How to Open a Pomegranate
If you've ever opened a pomegranate, you know it can be a messy experience, with red juice flying everywhere.
Begin by filling a bowl with water, to help contain the splatter.
Then start cutting the top and bottom of the fruit.
Cut along the ridges into quarters or fifths.
Carefully open a portion of the pomegranate. If the cuts are in the right place, all the seeds inside will be intact.
Carefully rub and pull the seeds out if the rind underwater. If there are any red spurts, nobody will get stained.
The seeds will collect on the bottom and the bits of rinds float to the top.
Many hands make for quick work!
All the yummy seeds are at the bottom and it's easy to skim off the little rinds.
Strain the water and you are left with beautiful and delicious pomegranate seeds.

Yum pomegranate seeds. I'm not even sure you can get the whole fruit here in the UK as I have only ever seen the seeds sold. Tasty though!

Never seen that method before, I suppose I could give it a try next time!
