Going Back to School

Every business, no matter what business it is, involves some soft of selling. In order to improve the business that I'm in, I signed up for business sales training.

Learning How to Sell?

It sounds funny to "learn" how to sell, as I've always thought it was just a natural talent that some people have and some people just don't.

But this is simply not true. Every skill and mindset is learned. It's either "self" learned, or it's learned from someone else. In my case, I need to learn this art from people who are experienced.

Training will continue into the middle of January, maybe a little longer. I'm excited to gain a new skill set and already, after one hour and a half class, I've already learned more than several years actually selling.

Were Does This Path Lead?

There is an important concept to remember when deciding to take council. Where is the advice coming from? Where will the path lead you? Are you going to adopt immoral philosophies? Will the council cause you to walk uprightly? These are important questions.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the council of the ungodly. Psalm 1

The training is not overtly "godly", but I have not seen anything to indicate immoral or ungodly behavior. These are not classes on how to take advantage of people, or become fabulously wealthy at the expense and detriment of others.

It's training the mind to remember what financial transactions are actually about: resolving "pain" and helping one another. And this is a godly philosophy.

Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. Proverbs 23:23

I'm learning the truth of how people think, how I think and the thoughts and actions that will help maintain the lifestyle unified with my family. My goal is not a Lambo or a big house or a boat. My goal is to be with my family and have a business that I can teach and hand down to my boy. The first lesson for me and for my boy is do not be anxious about the future and strive after THINGS to secure our future, but rather strive today to enter the narrow door, the righteousness of the Most High.

"Do be anxious about your life... do not be anxious [about tomorrow], saying, ‘What shall we eat [tomorrow]?’ or ‘What shall we drink [tomorrow]?’ or ‘What shall we wear [tomorrow]?' for the Gentiles strive after all these things. Your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. Seek first the Reign of God and His righteousness [today] and all these things will be added unto you [tomorrow]. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious about itself - today has enough anxiety of its own.” Matthew 6:25-34

If it is the will of God, may the Most High bless this endeavor and prosper me in His way.
