30+ HIVE Prize! Deadpost Curation #1

avatar
(Edited)

The Deadpost Initiative is a chance to reward under rewarded content from the past while making friends and building stronger community ties. This was all stated in my Deadpost revival post

Join the Deadpost Initiative Communtiy

From there you are invited to re-post old material that was looked over when you first posted it. I will be choosing a few posts to award 5-25 Hive on and a chance to be featured in our curation post. Aside from this is the potential receive to receive new rewards on your post. The more support and entries we get the more we will increase the rewards pool every week!

Curation and rewards will be decided by the quality of post, engagement on post, engagement of user on other deadposts, and payout of original post.

Requirements:

  • original post must have less than a $3 payout. If there were fewer than 3 sincere comments on the post, $5 posts will be acceptable.
  • repost must be posted in The Deadpost Initiatve Community
  • If you make a new post, you must use #deadpost as the first tag, but using crosspost is OK, so long as you do it inside the community.
  • the post must not have been re-posted before.

You are invited to write an introduction in the beginning of the post, though this is not required.

Deadline for Week 1 is April 8!

Feel free to link your posts in the comment section here

I didn’t announce any prizes so I guess people weren’t sure it had started. I think it’ll pick up this week

:-D thanks. We can brainstorm some ways to collaborate! Is NM fully on hive now? I posted from .io a week ago and i think my post ended up on steem

What about resurrecting some quality Nat Med / Mindful life posts here or would that feel too much like circle-jerking?

Personally, I feel people should take initiative themselves, to delve through their posting history and dig up and dust off some undiscovered jewels from the past. I also thinking adding a nice new intro to your post makes a difference.

I have a big problem with the word circle jerk. Not only is it gross, but the thing is, looking after your communities is a good thing, sruely? xx A nice new intro and reflection and reposting is fine in my book. Dusting off - unearthing - would be a good project too.

This is a great idea and a unique curative initiative. What a great way to help retention.

We did it for almost a year and got a bunch of support, gave out a bunch of rewards, sometimes more than this...It feel apart cause I got to busy and there was a lot of negative feelings about the bidbots about a year and a half ago, but I see no reason not to restart, just have to hype it back up! :-D welcome to join!

I don't have any old posts yet, but know I'll have some that qualify eventually.

I love this idea and can see it taking off. Maybe we could entice a few users that have become disenfranchised to give the platform another chance.

For #deadpost to be the first tag, do you want us to edit the tags on the original or add the tag in the crosspost description?

Will using a #deadpost in the description make it show up when i search the hashtag?

I just edited an old post published to Steemit and the first tag cannot be changed.

I just tried it. Deadpost is the second tag of the original post and I added it to the description and doesn't show up in the tag, at least not yet. Maybe a bug or slow refreshing?

Hi guys!

I think the tag people need to use is: hive-113828

The same happened recently with me on Naturalmedicine. If you don't post from the community, just using the tag ( as used to be the case on Steemit ) doesn't make your post show up.

So either post from here: Deadpost Initiative Community or - if you want to use PeakD or Hive.blog instead - make sure to use this hashtag:
hive-113828

You might want to edit the post to clarify this

If it's old posts, there's no way to post it originally into the community, other than to copy/paste an old post into a new article, which is frowned upon and can earn downvotes for doing it.

Crossposting and Communities have changed things since last year.

That is the whole idea, copy pasting it and adding an intro.

No worries man, frowned upon or not, resurrecting an unrecognized good post, is way better than the average shit post.

I just checked and mine did show up in the tag from editing them in the original post, put it still categorizes them by the date. So an older post may show up way below newer one's that were crossposted long before the one in question.

If they post into the community they don't need to use that tag, the #deadpost tag is just to raise awareness and make it easy to curate. maybe i should clarify!

If a post from early 2018 has a d.tube link that no longer plays (I guess because it only has three votes and no payout) should the video be reposted again? I think I still have the video in one of my external harddrives. The steemit post has three short paragraphs and the rest of the content is the video.

Feel free to repost! I recommend on threespeak since its integrated with hive. Just make sure you use #deadpost as the first tag

I did an upload test video on 3Speak and quickly deleted it. It doesn't look like that will work because it doesn't seem to allow the addition of the hive-113828 tag and The Deadpost Initiatve Community isn't in the drop-down list option of communities to post to.

I'll just post the video as an YouTube video and use that in the post.

I hope we can find them! I feel like people who find a niche do alright now but there are still some who haven't found that niche so hopefully we can help them.
