Do you think the Hong Kong protesters are right in asking Trump for help?

On the news it's being said that "Hong Kong protesters marched to US Consulate to call for help from Trump".

I find it strange that these people want to live in China and they don't want to follow China's rules and laws but they want to live according USA's laws. If they don't like it there, they can move. No one is making them stay.
