Do you have insurances and if how many?

Dutch people seem to have way too many insurances.

I don't it was a free choice and it is because we all want to play it on safe.
It's more that were talked into it or even forced to have one.

Health insurance is no longer a free option.
Pity for you if you can not afford to pay the fee of generally speaking 100 euro's/an adult or more. Your bill is getting higher and higher and if you have debts they will not help you.

If you buy a house, need a loan, life insurance is part of it.
The first benefit is the bank, next are your partner/children.

The liability insurance is one everyone should have.
If you damage something and do not have a fat bank account the insurance pay for it.

If you drive a car you need at least another liability insurance. A car accident caused by you will pay out the damage to someone else's car and personal damage.

Contents insurance might be helpful. It doesn't the only payout if you are robbed but accidents like your kid letting water out of the aquarium on your floor can be paid by the insurance too.

There are funeral insurances although they do not take care of everything. In most cases, you pay a lifetime for it.
They mainly arrange everything around the funeral (cards, coffee plus cheap cake, might pick up the body but a tombstone is not included).

Schools have insurances too just like the town/city you live in!
At least some have. If something happens with your child 30 minutes before and after school it is on their account. If it comes to it that insurance will not pay out and is a joke.

There are traveling insurances.
A part of it has a health or even car and funeral insurance in it.

The bike insurance (if your bike is broken or stolen) exists too.

Living a modern life means all kinds of insurances you might never need but together it is a high cost of living. Something you can not eat.
Do you have insurances?

I have more than 6 insurance, but all of them are cheap and properly tailored to my income and my family lifestyle without me. One of the policy is supposed to be a savings and investments, but since it has a free coverage for my life, if I'm died insurance company shall pay 50k to my family

I had life insurances, for my children as well. They went bankrupt so I lost everything I invested.

Now I have the health (costs me 1000/year if I pay for the whole year at once and my own risk is 885 euro/year.

I have funeral insurance but nonsense things included I do not like (cards, coffee, cake, etc I know nobody and this is very old fashioned and a waste of money.) I do not see the need to move my body to the Netherlands if I die abroad. I do not want to be buried so what's the point of that for me. I have this insurance because I do not want my children to pay for it. It's thousands of euro's they do not have either have I. My children have one too and I hope the adults still pay for it since I don't have the money to pay for it if they knock on my door.

I have the basic car insurance and one for damage and road services (not for in the place where I live), so five.

Together they are good for 160 euro/month. I wish I could do without since if it comes to it they have all kinds of rules why they not pay out and the insurance does not cover it or, like road service, only can ask for their help a few times a year.

It all really depending on your perception. As you said, it's for the children, even our own death has to cover so even if I die, my body doesn't cost them their amr and leg.

Medical insurance is important nowadays, in view of the severity of (not sickness but the way medical environment monopolization) operation costs. Even I have my medical card, but it can only last me half a year of 2nd stage cancer treatment. Anything more than that, it blown the budget out of the water. I can choose to revise my sum insured, but that will cost me 20x more for what I'm already paying now.

The Chinese saying goes, don't even try to fall sick if you're not rich enough for the bill.

@davidke20 That Chinese saying is do true. We better stay healthy and die in our sleep.and the kids can dig a hole in the garden and pretend I'm still alive.

You can pay all costs yourself or you do not care or afford it?
It saves money for sure.
Enjoy your weekend and thanks for voting. 👍

Not many, it's just one.
Well we usually don't have many or I would say don't bother much about it. And as health care doesn't cost much so it's okay like this way.

Lucky you with low health-care. Here it's at least 100 euro and for that low price your own risk is 885 euro a year. Yearly the prices increase. Before the euro we paid 15 golden/month which is about 5 euro.
You have no car? Who pays the funeral the government?

Thank you for voting.

I understand.
No, I don't owe any car but the maintenance cost is also not high. From daily life to a funeral the cost is not so high.

If a funeral wouldn't be so expensive I would not take that one either bit 10k euro is easily paid for it. I can not afgord it or take a loan. If I.wouldnt have children at all I would not take one. I guess the government will cremate you in those cases. That's fine with me.

Lucky you. Here for example the health insurance is law. You are not allowed to do without although the insurance will only payout after you paid at least the first 385 euro yourself. A huge problem if you have a low income or no income like my daughter. You can count on at least 100 euro (for that price your own risk is not 385 but 885 a year.).
Who pays for your funeral if you die? Your family?

It costs a lot and I also have debts because of that, too.
