Dpoll 63: How come you get fat if you eat chips.


Do you eat French fries/chips?

Does it increase your weight each time you ate it?
Frequently it is said it is unhealthy but... French fries are potatoes and... if potatoes are healthy, do not increase your weight why should French fries do that?

As I was a child there was an elderly lady in the village where I lived who only ate potato chips.
She was not fat at all but skinny, fit and didn't look unhealthy.

Already as a child she impressed me. To me she was, and so are the Eskimos, the proof daily fruit and vegetables are not needed at all to stay healthy and fit and chips does not make fat.

How come people who eat frequently French fries/chips are fat?

Very little nutrition in foods like this. The types of oils they fry them in are inflammatory and unstable when heated and reheated. That's definitely a recipe for disaster.

@heartbeat1515 I think we always eat too much. One person can eat more than the other so there's no average portion... It depends on your own metabolism.

I always eat too much but my metabolism sre not helping me with it. Lack of exercise too and that's why I'm obese. I just love food that kept my taste buds alive 🤣

It depends what oil they're being fried/cooked in. Also they're kind of associated with a lazy/sedentary lifestyle. A 'couch potato'

it can be a lot of different factors, much of it relates to the persons personal metabolism. I eat lots of chips and fried food but I am not fat... perhaps when my metabolism slows down it will all catch up to me

Thank you for your vote. I think that plays a big role. It might be the combination of different kinds of food too. Digesting one kind might be way easier. Mormon or lack of it only can not cause it all. 💕

Thank you for your vote. I am sure we do. For some reason, we are afraid we will not get enough and we no longer listen to our body if it says "enough". Children do but they need to empty their plate or... 💕

That is possible although it takes 15 minutes till your brains get the signal there's food in your stomach. This means the faster you eat the more you eat because you still feel hungry. 💕

@fredkese You can try to eat slower or two times a bit on.a small.plate or drink before your meals or you have a high metabolism.and need more food, or eat the wrong food, to feel fine.
