Here is the first woman to have climbed The Mount Everest

Today's google doodle on the first woman to have climbed The Mount Everest in 1975... Junko Tabei

The Japanese mountain climber had formed a women's group to do these tasks as men did not treat her well. Infact not much funding was given to her team for the Everest adventure, because society was not in favour of women climbing mountains, but the team got 2 sponsors in the last minute.

All the team ladies contributed some personal amount. They used covers of recycled cars for water proof pouches to store items and stitched their own sleeping bags.

Junko Tabei was herself a mom, when she was attempting to do this daring quest. An avalanche buried the team, Junko and others were rescued by the guide. Post this, Junko along with her guide and another team climber became the first women of the world to climb The Everest!!!

Incredible!!! ...

If this is not enough she has even worked to take measures to get rid of the rubbish that’s left on Mount Everest by the climbers.

And I am sure many girls and women grew up believing they were weak being branded a weaker sex and what not, well if only instead we were empowered by tales of such stories. This had adventure, challenge, courage, spirit and awesome qualities to take someone to heights (signs) , after all Junko Tabei climbed big mountains by 1970’s, it’s been quite a long time back.

Always recognize women achievers, heroes so other living women have role models to look up to, that's very important!!!
