I'm changing STEEM to Thai Baht at STEEMFest and you can help!

STEEM is easily exchanged for fiat, and now we will have proof!

Hat Yai Bangkok Crisis Drill today

I have many complicated reasons why I need to change STEEM to Thai fiat at STEEMFest.

But I am not paying attention to bad news now. I am writing this post from Hat Yai Thailand. My overnight bus ride from Kuala Lumpur, and border crossing were both a breeze. I was the "Auntie" of the bus and made so many nice friends.

Soon I will start the next leg of my trip by night train from Hat Yai to Bangkok. If I made it this far, I will continue with all good results.

Here is my plan, hope and dream

  • One or more STEEMers will be available and happy to change some amount of Thai Baht to STEEM.
  • We will check the current price of STEEM/USD at https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/steem. This site is excellent, and run by our own @coingecko steemers who are also attending and speaking at STEEMFest. coingecko.com is my go-to site since they got here, and I hope it is yours too.
  • USD/THB is found on Google and this will lead to the two amounts that we exchange >>> STEEM/THB.
  • I will get screenshots and photos for this momentous event(s).
  • Blog posts will be coming to show how quickly and easily STEEM can be converted to fait.
  • Repeat as needed until I get to 1100 THB.

I hope you agree and will participate if you can. You cannot remain anonymous due to the blockchain thingy, unless you have some secret method. But you can decline the photo op if you are in hiding.

This STEEM/FIAT event takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, November 5.

I will arrive at the main Bangkok Train Station, Hua Lumpong at about 10 am and can get to the Prince Hotel soon after that.

If you will be at the conference hotel site anytime tomorrow, and care to make this swap, please do let me know in a comment here or at my discord:

I am looking for a minimum of 1100 thb to be able to check into the hostel where I am staying. This is approximately $35 USD for an eight night stay. But I have more STEEM than that, and will change all I can over the time of the conference.

STEEMFest check in starts at 3 pm on Wednesday November 6. The conference hotel is a quick and cheap bus ride from the Hua Lamphong Train Station. This is where I will arrive in the city.

I will go to the conference hotel first instead of to the hostel. Then I will find some free wifi and coffee until the check in starts. So if you are there and see this, I will be easily found.

I will go as early as I can to the check in and park myself there. I will ask everyone who comes in to change my STEEM to THB until I get to 1100 THB - the amount I need to pay the hostel.

Then I will take the bus back to my hostel, check in, pay, and turn around to come back to the conference hotel for the opening drinks event at 8 pm. By then I should know at least half of the STEEMers there, lol.

Questions

  • How many people will show up early for the check-in or already be at the hotel in the early day?
  • How many people will I have to ask before I have success in exchanging the amount I need?
  • Will many people change tiny amounts of STEEM for thb? - OR -
  • Will few people change larger amounts of STEEM for thb? I'm fine with either, as long as i can pay for the hostel.
  • How many people will let me take their photos exchanging STEEM for thb?

To be continued

This is not over! I will keep asking to change money for the whole entire event. At least I can get STEEM money without fees while there. Unbelievably, I will need to pay rent again when I get back to Malaysia. And eat. And pay wifi.

Ergh...

Not thinking of this now, except with positive intent.

All photos for this post were taken by me on the way to Hat Yai and now while here. I'm leaving in a couple of hours, and cannot wait to ride on the train.

Really bad wifi a tthis station though and I will probably be out of touch until I get to Bangkok.

Coins.co.th still works well and you can use quick transfer to get money from Krungsri over the counter without any sort of account
