Wow! A bookshop with a car on its roof!
We are book lovers, but have a look at these massive shells!

I cannot tell you how fantastic this shop was to
visit!
We saw this on our way out of the shop!
Outside was commemoration to the Rhino slaughter in our country!
And then it was time to go back home.

Thank you JJ, I think the owner had it placed up there in full view as an attraction for tourists. In season they flock to this area and the car certainly pulled us in from afar.
The shells must come from some island somewhere, as we don't have that size over here. Massive beauties.

The Rhino is charming, more of these should be manufactured, reminds me of Sweden visit.... many years ago.
Wow! They certainly have a perfect hand made system over there Lady Joan.
Maybe one day when all of the Rhinos are gone, we will have to to something like this to show the future kids what they looked like.
So sad that this country opened its doors to the syndicates.

Oh yeah Sir @janton, since South Africa opened its borders under the new government many syndicates have moved in. The customs reports show horrifying amounts of wildlife trafficking that they seized.

So that means they are not stopping the poaching?
No Sir @janton, it seems that they will never stop, as the billions that they make is their driving force. These syndicates are professionals and they plan their poaching raids with military precision.
They work mostly at night, but some good news is that we have recently launched some drones with nightsite cameras.
But yes, it's a losing battle.

I guess the country is too poor to fund special forces and high tech gear to deal with the problem?
It is several vast areas that they have to cover and the belief is that the poachers infiltrate across the Mozambican border, as it's very easy to cross into South Africa. An additional problem is that we are also bordered by two other countries. Many of the poachers are war veterans supplied with high powered rifles with telescopic night sights and so it remains a losing battle.

I enjoy reading them all and sometimes I get a little behind. This week in particular, I had issues along with everyone else and things kind of went sideways. But, hey!! Where is the fun of life if there isn’t a challenge, right?
To be fair, it was a week of too much work and not enough time when steem finally righted itself. So, I am here late and apologize. This doesn’t mean your post wasn’t awesome! You know it was!
I am a little unsure how voting on comments is going to be, but, it is looking dismal and most of them will be worthless. I voted nonetheless, but, not sure how it all comes out in the wash. So this week, I will be giving a bigger tip to you to make up for that. I need to sit down and figure out what they have done to the system as your post is worthy and they have just made it harder to reward you.
My apologies and hopefully this will make up for most of it!
