PLASTIC SECRETS: LOOK AT THE BOTTOM!

Look at the bottom of your plastic bottles and dishes, guys!

Do you see small letters there?
It turns out it is a special code that can cover dangerous truth!

I bought new plastic plates and when I was washing them, I saw a code - PP5...
I was puzzled and startee to seek for info. Now I share my results.

Plastic bottles always contain a record on the label of what type of plastic they are made of. And this information is very important. Any plastic remains chemicals of varying degrees of danger into the water inside of the bottle.

Any bottle contains one of these designations.

But what does it all mean?

PET or PETE

These are PETs, or disposable bottles. They can release heavy metals and substances into the liquid that affect the human hormonal balance.
PET is the most commonly used type of plastic in the world. It is important to remember that it is intended for DISPOSABLE use.
If you pour your water into such a bottle, then be prepared for the fact that some alkaline elements and too many bacteria can get into your body.

HDP or HDPE

This is plastic of good quality, which causes no harm to our health. Specialists recommend, if possible, to buy water in these bottles. It’s both safe and environmentally friendly: such plastic is recycled.

PVC or V

At least two hazardous chemicals are released from this material. Both have negative effect on your hormonal balance.
It is soft and flexible plastic that is commonly used to store vegetable oil and children's toys. It is also used for sheathing computer cables. Plastic pipes and parts for plumbing are made using this material. Nevertheless, experts recommend to avoid it.

LDPE

This plastic is used in the manufacture of bottles and in the manufacture of plastic bags. It does not release chemicals into the water, but if we speak about other products - the definite risk is possible.

PP

It is often white or translucent tones. Used as packaging for syrups and yogurts.
Polypropylene is valued for its heat resistance. When it is heated, it does not melt. Relatively safe.

I felt relief a little... My code was PP5.

PS

Often used in the manufacture of coffee cups and containers for fast food. When heated, however, it releases hazardous chemicals.
Polystyrene is cheap and fairly durable form of plastic, which, however, is not suitable for storing hot food and drinks.

PC or plastic without special characters

This is the most dangerous type of plastic. Used in the manufacture of water bottles and food containers.
It is strictly forbidden to store food or water in a container made of polycarbonate: it secretes Bisphenol A, a known substance that destroys your endocrine system.
It suppresses the production of a hormone called estrogen.

And one more thing: before buying anything in ANY plastic packaging, think twice. Still, glass is much safer.
