Champion's League Qualifiers

Three interesting Europa League qualifier games, Dynamo Kiev vs Gent, Dynamo won the first game 1-2. Molde vs Ferencvaros, this was tied in the first match 3-3, and Omonia Nicosia vs Olympiakos, the Greeks have a 2-0 lead. We only have the Omonia vs Olympiakos game televised here so of course that is the game I will watch and talk about.

The first half was far from exciting, both teams tried but very few shots were on target and as always a lot of playing the ball back to the goalkeeper, I can understand Olympiakos doing that they are ahead by two goals but Omonia needs goals not to have their goalkeeper with the ball, well this is part of the new football, my philosophy was always look for a goal, all out attack that is the best defense. In any case both teams are far from being contenders for the Champions League title, unless something changes a lot in the team that goes through.

The second half was much of a copy of the first half, but now Omonia was getting more and more desperate and Olympiakos was thus able to easily control the flow of the game, in the end the Greek side was able to make it through without exerting themselves too much. In the other games Dynamo Kiev and Ferencvaros were also able to go through to the next round. But after seeing this game I am quite sure these teams will not be much of a threat in this next round.
