Scary Night

pageBreak.png

Last night when I got home from work at around 11pm, Faith was having some problems with her breathing as we went to sleep. Around 4 in the morning, she woke me up and let me know that it was really hard for her to breath and that she thought that she needed to go to the hospital. When we got up, she almost fainted and I had to help her walk around the house and up the stairs.

At the hospital, they did a chest x-ray to check her lungs and monitor her oxygen levels. The results from the x-ray came back and said that her lungs did not look like she had pneumonia or any signs of coronavirus in her lungs, but her oxygen levels were slightly lower than normal. After being in the hospital for a couple hours and talking to the doctor through a speaker, she was released and we went home to get some sleep.

About 2 and a half hours after we got home, Faith finally got the call with her results of her COVID-19 test that we have been waiting on for about 9 days and it was negative. So at least there was something good that came out of all of this. Hopefully she is able to get over whatever sickness she has been dealing with the past few weeks though.

Now that she has been cleared with a negative test, she is going to be able to get back to work, whether it is working from home, or back at her work. It will be an interesting time as we move forward from here because there have been talks about having a statewide quarantine and all non-essential workers will be required to stay home. I will still be working because I manage the backroom of a retail store and have to make sure that all of my employees get all of our merchandise out to the floor.

As you go to the stores and the shelves are empty, please know that the workers are doing everything they can to try and get those items out to the shelves for you. Please be patient with them. They are tired, overworked, they are losing more and more of their co-workers each day to sickness, which puts further strain on them and causes them to have to work even harder and longer hours away from their families. Those workers are exposing themselves to the public all day, knowing that it may be just a matter of time until they get sick themselves.

Stay Safe

Not everything with this virus has been doom and gloom though. Our earth has been healing itself as we all stop driving and industrial areas have slowed their pollution. The air here in Utah is the cleanest that it has been in a while and I have read of similar stories from all over the world.

I hope all of you are staying safe and spending time with your loved ones. If you are quarantined, I hope you are spending this time to learn a new skill.

Stay healthy and stay awesome!

oh glad to hear the results came back negative - sounds like a really scary night though! This has to be tough on people in grocery retail, I do not envy you your position.

I'm glad she is okay and Covid free. Strange that doctors have no clue what caused it. I think we will be fully quarantined here in Estonia as well, AT SOME POINT. It seems like our government wants to see the mortality rate rising before taking action...

Stay safe out there and I wish u the best health!

Glad to hear that it was a negative result. Scary AF.
This covid19 thing is virulent and highly contagious.
Things have been nuts here in the UK with stores running out of everything. #emptyshelves in all the supermarkets. You retail guys are in the front line on this very dangerous situation. Thank you.
The mad buying lasted about 10 days but the stores are now full of produce again.
Estimated £1billion in panic buying?
Some stupid/selfish people have still been going out and so now we are about to be ordered to stay indoors.
We are about to get the second wave of infections which will probably be worse because of these idiots.

Stay safe this thing is lethal.

Thanks. Our shelves here are still empty and we can’t keep up with any of it. It has been crazy. Stay safe out there. I don’t think we have seen how bad this is going to get yet.

She should not be going back to work, as even though the test right now was negative, her immune system is weakened with whatever she is down with (can't say for sure what it is as I don't know her detailed clinical history) and will be quite vulnerable to a coronavirus infection should she come in contact with someone else who is carrying the virus.

Stay safe.

She isn’t going back to the office yet. She is going to try and get set up to work from home. We are still going to be doing somewhat of a quarantine and limiting our exposure to people the best that we can.

My brother-in-law just took my sister to the ER with difficulty breathing this morning. They admitted her and told him to go home and self-quarantine. I hope my story winds up having as happy an ending as yours. Stay safe and give your wife an extra hug from the Hive family.

Good luck. I've been knocked down with a terrible cold / flu for the last week or so - it isn't CV - but I don't think I've been so sick in my life, compounds of stress, the media frenzy of the pandemic; and the fact that this year so far, all round the world, has taken an enormous emotional toll on lots of people.

I've got a friend who works retail in a grocery store, she's getting absolutely smashed.

Good luck, stay healthy, and get plenty of rest.

Time seems to go ever slower (and faster) in moments like this - and a day can feel like forever. We're all in this together.

I hope that you start to feel better. That sucks to hear that you are sick. I hope that people stay away from you and don’t bring any other sickness close to you to make things worse. These are scary times.

We'll pull through - even if there's an absurd spike in deaths, the virus will just do what diseases and illnesses have been doing to the human race for thousands of years - natural selection.

Hope that Faith gets better.

Stay healthy, and even though you're a world away, thanks for helping to keep the supply chain in one piece.

I'm glad the test was Negative. I understand the anxiety and thoughts that go on during these kinds of things. We tend to dwell too much on worse case scenarios it perhaps why some people tend to brace themselves only to become relieved when it was something say like a Iron deficiency anemia that can be corrected by diet or supplements.
I work as a Nurse with training in Respiratory care and Ventilator equipment, I am deemed essential service so I won't be spending much time at home with my kids and I may not be taking my Vacation when I expect it.

Glad she's alright man!

May not even apply, but a couple years ago, we were running a space heater in the house, and I had been sick with the usual seasonal crud. Took me awhile to figure it out, but turns out, the heater dried the air out so bad in the house it was making it even harder to breath. I could breath just fine, but it was like it wasn't doing any good. Air was moving in and out of my lungs, but it still felt like I was suffocating. Weird.

Anyway, I told ya that to tell ya this. If y'all still got the heat running, or if it's just been real dry there, maybe get ya a humidifier if you don't have one. Might help.

Hope she feels better soon!

So glad to hear faith is okay, that must have been so scary for you all. These are strange times and even though I am an optimist I am on edge myself, things change here from day to day. But yet now is the time to learn new things and be with your loved ones xxx
