Wow! You had me with that opening ingredient list my friend.
I really thought that your Taco would be one of the best ever made in the history of Tacos until you came with the cheapskate stuff hahaha.
But at least you enjoyed your Taco and that's what counts!

Haha, that was me describing my dream taco. I think I would have to go to Mexico and still try very hard to find those ingredients.
I'm glad I enjoyed the taco, too.
Thanks!

Buen provecho!
Tacos are delicious, as long as they are not spicy (for me).
Great pictures.

Thanks! These tacos weren't spicy, but I added tabasco sauce after.

I had a "flat" taco the day before yesterday - a tostada! Mmmmm I love tostadas and they are much easier to eat without getting messy!

I'm wanting some now after seeing your post... maybe for lunch again today!

Flat tacos are good. I usually eat the soft one to avoid a mess or give up and make a salad. Sadly, I don't have a good taco restaurant near me so it's an effort to have them.

I have a Taco Bell within a 5 minute walk. Not my favorite Mexican restaurant, (my favorite is a family-owned restaurant about 12 miles from home), but I do love their tostada, and the bean burritos make for a satisfying lunch once a week maybe. :) I don't like to eat much fast food though.

Taco Bell gets a lot of hate, but compared to similar priced places, they are good. The closest one to me is a 20min drive which is good because if it was anycloser I'd be there too often.

I have a decent texmex chain place about 10min away that just opened and a great family owned place around 1hr away. They just aren't as common here.

I avoid eating Taco Bell's meats. A friend I used to work with told me that he once saw a case of the ground beef they used when that was the only meat they served, and its grade was really low - so low that it was marked "Not intended for human consumption."

I don't know if it's true or not, but I never thought of him as dishonest and never caught him being dishonest in anything else. I just can't ignore it though.

I often see this label on pet food which just means it isn't inspected properly. Also some 'edible' packaging may have it. Technically you can digest it. I doubt Taco Bell could get an exception from FDA and the likes, maybe corruption at the individual franchaise level?

That said, their beef is junk. I still eat it though, but I have low standards when it

Actually I don't think Taco Bell was owned by Pepsico or whatever big corporation owns it back then, so doing something like this was probably a breeze. ;)

This was a very fun read, @abitcoinskeptic! I love your sense of humor. It’s not often that I laugh out loud at something I read, but this cracked me up, we love taco night at my house, but we have slowly switched over to burrito bowls. You incorporate more veggies and you don’t need taco shells. It’s nice to crumble some tortilla chips on top, though.

Is a burrito bowl similar to a taco salad? Hard shells are hard to find here, but nachos are easy so I make this more often.

That's a helluva cauldron! Priests and lightning strikes, oh my!

Taco's may be neither American nor Mexican, but they sure are tasty. let's just call them a global food, perhaps. Mmmm.

I think calling it a global food is best. That is when we can allnadmit that the taco belongs to humanity. Next step, taco night becomes UNESCO intangible heritage.

Finding ingredients up in the hills special care taken was a hoot, good expressive way of saying what you thinking in your head and what actually gets served up locally.

I'm not sure if anyone actually goes to this length to find tacos. But The menu was inspired from somewhere. I've climbed a hill to get food before.

You are quite a card @abitcoinskeptic. You had me believing. 😂

I’m glad you enjoyed your tacos.

When I lived in Whitby there was a Taco Bell restaurant I loved to frequent.

Taco Bell first opened in Korea around 7 years ago. It was a happy day for me. I enjoy their low quality tacos and their slogam....think outside the bun.

I used to go to the taco bell in barrie on the way up to camping or skiing a lot.

lol you had me going there @abitcoinskeptic! Harvesting the finest taco ingredients at the perfect time :) Hopefully this satisfied your taco-urge until Cinco de mayo :)

No taco could possible satisfy me until then. It hasn't been a week and I already want tacos again. Maybe I'll imagine my cinco di mayo tacos next.

lol..very good sir abitcoinskeptic, very funny stuff here! I haven't tried to buy those standing tacos but I'm gonna look for those next time because the regular ones are such a pain like you said. Great photos and they really make me hungry!

I've actually seen taco holders, but these are much better, very convenient.

No Taco Bell there? :D Hey now looks like you got one key ingredient... I bet that is a bottle of Tabasco! Had for me to be certain on my phone.

Yup, that's tabasco, I like it.

I think sour cream and guac would have made it better, but can't have it all I guess.

I love Tex-Mex also. I have a favorite restaurant La Escondida I visit monthly. I look tex-mex myself occasionally, and use the taco kits also for convenience. I use the low-sodium brand though.

Tacos are the best. I cannot find low-sodium anything here. Finding hardshell tacos alome is like winning the lotto.
