If you work too hard, you should check your health

I saw a post on the chain this morning, someone posted a picture of their blood pressure and it was reading 285/186 or so, and honestly I was seriously shocked.
They said their doctor said that it was probably work stress and that he had to rest and all that. He also confirmed that people who had the same type of high blood pressure like him in that hospital were actually in the stroke ward.
This means that these people already have stroke, and I think he's definitely feeling very lucky to be alive at the moment. A lot of people in the comment asked him to stop working too hard and just rest up, but the man had to let them know that he was feeding four people and he simply just couldn't stop or else they'd starve.
A lot of people don't understand the sacrifices of a man who has to work extra hard to feed extra mouths. It's one of the most tasking things ever. Yesterday I wrote about inflation, the cost of living and stuffs like that, and honestly a lot of people didn't understand.
People who are working to take care of other people, maybe a wife, kids, grandparents, in-laws and all that, are life's biggest MVPs. They're not working to stay alive on their own, they're not working to live the best lives, they're doing a lot extra to provide for other people, and honestly this is the biggest challenge.
A lot of people telling him to stop simply don't know what it means to be a provider, or maybe they do but maybe not up to that extent.
The life of a provider can be very difficult, and sometimes when they're unfit or unwell as a result of chronic stress, they still cannot afford to sit in the hospital bed, or afford to just wait around, because the rent is reading, feeding bills, electricity and all that.
All these bills has to be paid, and since life doesn't stop for people to recover, they run into debts and all that, and this is one of the harshest realites of someone who is a provider.
Blood pressure, stress & body organs
At the peak of my illness in September/Oct last year my blood pressure was about 192/115 or so, and it was a dark moment for me.
However, a lot of people simply don't understand that when blood pressure begins to run to the 180, or 190 levels for systolic pressure, then it's no longer just stress and they need to do more extensive research into their heart, brain health and kidneys too, and it's better to discover issues with the heart, kidney or brain when it's early and then deal with them ASAP more than waiting around till symptoms begins to show.
In reality when the blood pressure begins to show up this way, a lot of health care workers mostly dismisses these issues as just stress instead of doing simple tests or research that can save their patients a lot of stress and this is honestly very sad.
Then again, health care/hospital benefits more when people are in chronic conditions rather than when you're in remission.
Health care & the ridiculous expense
Even the healthcare that's supposed to be a big relief for people is even more subscription-based than ever. It's the dark side of reality. The physiology of man is wired differently.
People aren't wired to be working multiple jobs to survive and pay bills and the most frustrating aspect is that life is getting even more expensive, this doesn't in any way bump up your salary, your quality of life isn't improved and you cannot even pay for your health bills when they start piling.
The case of this man is just the life of the regular breadwinner who is just struggling to get back and then be responsible for a lot more other people. It's an awareness for everyone to check their health especially if they're working too hard and earning little and still cannot afford to get sick. Like always, I think greed is why the common person has to struggle this way.
Gosh! That pressure is high. He's a lucky dude to have escaped stroke.
Everyone should take care of their health because nothing works without being
healthy.
Yeah, he's honestly very lucky. My mum had a stroke about 13 to 12 years ago, and I'm not sure he pressure was up to that. She died from being incapable of doing things on her own
Nobody on their deathbed has ever said "I wish I would have worked more."
You don't have to work harder to make a living, you need to work smarter. Most people are stuck in their day to day habits which keep them unproductive and poor.
You're right about working smarter, it's just best sometimes, some people try and it just doesn't work for them.
For example, I've been a smart worker all my life, and a lot of times it becomes honestly very difficult..
Well then my friend you might need outside perspective to shift your mindset. Sometimes a little push in a different direction makes a world of difference when it comes to profession.
It's a tough situation. If the guy drops dead, the bills don't stop.
The remaining family will need to figure out how to survive without him. If they can survive without him, then he didn't need to work that hard.
To my way of thinking, if I need to provide, then I need to stay alive. I might enlist the help of my family to generate income from home somehow. This is especially true if I am at risk of death. They need to learn to provide for themselves before I'm gone.
You're right, they'll probably find a way to survive if he dies, but then it's quite difficult to a lot of providers or breadwinners to think rationally. Because they're used to providing that think that life might just end if they stop providing.
However I think in life even people who looks to be indispensable are actually replaceable, it might be tough or difficult at first, but you're right when you say people need to actually stay alive to do their duties of providing.
That is some high pressure, and I am just glad that they are still alive. I think they need to consider their health first, and it would be even worse for the family if he is the breadwinner. There needs to be a good balance for everything.
The rate at which people is having high bp nowadays is alarming especially men, it is often because of the burden(responsibilities) on them
Men are underrated, I think it's why people should not have more than one child if they're not financially bouyant. Too much chronic with overtime and people develop high BP that eventually kills them.
Having just one child when not strong financially is not just an advice, it is a warning cos anyone who tries to have more than one will see shege banza
I think the man had 3 or so, and is even living in a better country than Nigeria o. Yet. Honestly it's even more expensive to live in this country, I wonder why people aren't admitting it
