No Food for 2020?!

πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰Let's talk about no food. πŸ™ˆ (I know, a foodie's nightmare!)

cece no food.jpg

If you know me (or a quick scroll on my profile, will find) I am a HUGE foodie!

This year I had a plan to start off the decade without any of my favorite thing in the world... no food!

(Did you know you can not only survive, but thrive without food?)... Crazy, I know!

Where it began... December 31, 2019...
This New Year's Eve, I skipped the regular beach bash and instead, I went to a vegan restaurant for their party.

I didn't drink any alcohol, alternatively, I sipped on hot raw cacao (heart opening) and a beautiful gotu kola blend (calming and healing herb) created by some beautiful individuals right here in Bali.🌱

I danced, I laughed, I ate delicious food along the way to ring out the last decade... I connected with so many wonderful souls and then, I drove home safe with a big plan for the day ahead! πŸ™Œ

✨That started off a really powerful new and special year for me. 10 years have come and gone leaving me the first day of the year, in bed, wondering why I decided to forget the night in a haze of too much to drink... I always made the same excuse "it's only one night". Not this year.πŸ’œ

January 1, 2020, there was no hangover or headache in the morning. That was a Godsend!πŸ™Œ

In fact, the morning of January 1st was one of my best mornings I've had in a very long time! As I danced around the living room, singing and breathing in the joy of the new decade ahead, I decided that I would in fact go through with my plans to do solitary fast starting that night.

Logistics were figured out and I got the whole house to myself to just breath into 2020 on my own.

πŸ™ˆ A lot of people fear fasting-- I know because I was one of those people! I'm already small as it is naturally so why would I want to die? πŸ˜…πŸ™

When I was living in California in 2014, I read so much about fasting and I proved to myself that it's actually incredibly beneficial to give the body time to rest to heal. And without all of the energy that's normally used up going to digesting our foods especially because we don't chew as well as we should (and eat a lot of processed foods) all of that energy could now be redistributed to other areas in the body any to heal any illness any aches pains or traumas that were stuck there.

πŸ’¦ And so January 1st, I began my water fast. I have to tell you the first 3 days were really easy for me. I had a clear mind. I read four books and I felt on top of the world. I didn't miss food (although food is a huge part of my entire life and I kept thinking about it!) It's important to note that I intermittent fast daily and have practiced fasting for years.

✨I had an actionable planned out vision of going into the future. I got in touch with my goals my passions, and my spirituality and so is very blessed to have that time to cultivate my inner goddess!πŸ”₯✨

Toward the end on day 6, I went up into the jungle. 🌴🌴🌴

πŸ‘‰πŸ’œI initiated a fire ceremony to let go of everything that I've been holding onto in the last decade-- anything that was not necessary for me to keep anymore, any resentment held, any anger or sadness and I released it all into a beautiful πŸ”₯!.

πŸ‘‰ Giving yourself time to heal is liberating.
πŸ‘‰Awakening is necessary.
πŸ‘‰ Having solitary time to meditate and reflect is truly a blessing once you learn to let go of your thoughts and monkey mind!
πŸ‘‰ We accumulate so many toxins in our bodies that we are not even aware of.
πŸ‘‰ What you put into your body from your mother's womb can stay with you your entire life in your blood and your tissue.
πŸ‘‰Cleansing and detoxing this is one of the best ways to release that and feel the best you ever have!

✨✨✨ I declare 2020 the year where I make incremental changes to my life.✨✨✨

πŸ’šI honor and I'm deeply grateful for my culinary skills.🌱 I'm going to give myself more time and space to put more energy into that this year (And that means coming back here more!) ✨

πŸ’œ I'm going to show up into this world with more love and compassion for everyone around me! I severed the ties of pain and trauma that I'd been holding onto me for years past previous loves, painful tragedies and I actively decided in my body, mind and spirit to let it all go!

πŸŽ‰ This is not just a new year family! This is a new decade and we have the choice to make huge changes!

πŸ‘‰ What will yours be? ✌️

Happy 2020!

Love,
Cece

I just try to listen to my body, learning to recognize which is addiction and which is need. I notice that I feel much better when I skip breakfast and lunch and have an early dinner sometimes. Then other times I get really hungry in the morning. Different lifestyles, emotions and activities require different things so I don't really buy into one particular diet that is good for everyone, there are just patterns we can pay attention to. Maybe one day when we are all Buddha's we won't have to eat. I'm not going to force it though!

@whatamidoing-- good point and that's one of the very ethics I advocate for-- listening to YOUR body as everybody's body is different! I think a good break (fast) here and there is a great way to reset which is why I often lend my own body that time to super-charge itself!

Eating in itself is a form of pleasure also and I think it's beautiful. Acknowledging the difference between enjoyment and addiction is definitely something of value to be able to discern. Sounds like you're treating your body well and I wish you luck with your journey! :)

Hahaha <3 Happy new year @bubke! There are a lot of factors, I have been away working on a highly ambitious blockchain project that I've just shared some of my responsibilities for... thus giving me some more time in my pocket again. That and I am currently in Singapore catching up on 2019 which lead me back here! 2020 will bring me back again! ;)

This post got me shook I totally agree about that chewing and digestive thing we’ve turned eating into a hobby and not something we do to survive

Good luck on your quest

@chekohler definitely! I advocate much more mindfulness concerning eating. We can gain so much health and overall wellness by slowing down and being more intentional about what we put in our bodies. After fasting, I am spending even more time making sure to consciously chew each bite of food before swallowing and I notice a huge difference in energy levels! All the best to you in 2020!

To be fair, I IF daily so it's prepared me for long term water fasts. It's actually not as hard as one might imagine if properly prepared for before and after.

Thank you for the warm wishes for 2020, same right back to you! It's going to be a beautiful decade filled with change!
