Toxic Ferrari Self Destruct

Looks like Seb's time could be coming to an end. Will he retire or be tempted by another team.

Yesterday at the Brazilian Grand Prix we saw Sebastien Vettel and Chareles Le Clerc knock each other and Ferrari out of the race. We have seen team rivalry happen with other teams in the past and they have never ended well. There are never any winners and the team is the ultimate loser.

Both cars just hit each other and both suffered punctures and car damage. Vettel squeezed Le Clerc and they didn't give an inch.

The Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto needs to sort both drivers out and maybe decide who is number one and number 2. Le Clerc is the young upstart and I feel for Vettel as it does look as though Le Clerc has been favored over the last part of the season.

In previous races they have clashed arguing over track position on the race and Vettel won't give an inch to Le Clerc. He feels as though he has earned the right to be number one and Le Clerc needs to listen to his wishes. This won't happen as Le Clerc is there to win and do the best for him. I somehow don't see Vettel hanging around and he may move to another team.

Toto Wolff called it after the Singapore race that Ferrari need to manage the two drivers carefully as it could become toxic.

Prost and Mansell hated each other and fell out as bitter rivals and we say Perez and Ocon doing something similar even though it was Perez and not Ocon deliberately causing the accidents. Vettel and Le Clerc had have some tense situaions in Italy, Russia, Bahrain ,Singapore and now they took each other out in Brazil. This is not a happy camp tonight.

Vettel has been open an honest about Le Clerc's sudden rise and saying he is not overjoyed is an understaement. le Clerc is 19 points ahead of Vettel in the driver standings and Vettel was desperate to get some points back this weekend and try and finish ahead of his rival with the last race coming up in Abu Dhabi.

Seb has hinted he has been thinking about retirement as he is 32 and has 4 World titles already. Maybe if Porsche joined the Formula One family in 2021 he could be tempted much like Michael Schumacher was joining Mercedes and helping develop the car.

Knowing how Vettel feels about Le Clerc and with him questioning team orders favoring Le Clerc maybe Abu Dhabi will be his last race. Todays problem was they pitted Le Clerc right at the emd and not Vettel. This favored Le Clerc having newer tires and being right behind Vettel almost guaranteed him getting ahead. When the Ferrari boss was asked about this move not letting Vettel to change tires he said Seb had no new tires left. This shows different strategies and again it favored Le Clerc or it just seems that way.

I just can't see him doing another season under the same conditions. Le Clerc will finish higher on points than Vettel and will expect to be named the number one driver for Ferrari next season.

Oh wow, that looks like a pretty nasty accident. Does stuff like that happen often or is it pretty rare that they have accidents. I know that lot of people just watch the races for the accidents.

I would say it is fairly common. Maybe not the same team taking each other out but plenty of accidents normally.

This reminded me of Turkey 2010, when Vettel took out himself and almost Webber in exactly the same way; he has this tendency to "squeeze" his opponent into a less favorite line for the next corner, which is fine, professional even, but he needs to learn that this won't work when it's his teammate. Leclerc didn't move an inch, just like Webber didn't move an inch in 2010, so I see both incidents as 100% Vettel's mistake. Brazil was kind of a freak accident though; such light contact usually doesn't have such dramatic effects...

I agree Vettel was at fault ,but it just goes to show the slightest of touches is all it takes. I knew Le Clerc had a puncture but Vettels was slightly delayed and it looked like he may get away with it.
