Winter... mushroom time!
Fungi Lovers
What I need to say here... Let me do a little news announcement. As you look at the tags, you may see this strange 'hive-166168' one. Its a new Steemit feature, which is called 'community' (still at beta-testing stage).
So, I've created a new one for all you, fungi lovers.
Dear setero, please join and lets have more fun together!
It can be found at the following address:

Plans
I haven't considered this through too much yet. But, if we do end up gaining some members, I am sure we will be getting somewhere. Maybe we need not any extra levels of engagement after fungi, shooting them and watching the pics can be a self-sufficient deal.. But if you have any ideas please feel free to let me know.
And now, some visuals!
You know, it might be hard to search for mushrooms in wintertime, when they grow quietly, sitting under the layers of snow -- but its not an impossible mission! You can go find them in a local supermarket... or search them on the trees (which probably arent covered with snow and definitely may have some petrified shrooms on their trunks). Or you may also dig up in your old folders!
Actually, these are from some cycling photo session in the park... back in 2008!
Mushrooms from the Pholiota family.
What a pretty boys!.. They were all shiny and fresh from the rain, I couldnt but stop and take some pics.
And now, as I share them on the blockchain, they may live forever! A miracle of technology, isn't it?
You may think there are 3 of them here, but check the other side, and definitely you will see one more little baby - so its four of them.

Happy Fungi Friday to you!
#FungiFriday fun challenge by @EwkaW
I hope many of you will join, as there are only 2 simple rules:
- when Friday comes, share your fungi with us! post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, stolen images will be checked and reported !)
- add #fungifriday (not necessarily must be your 1st tag). that's all!
Nice, looks like they are in the pholiota family. Wonder if these are edible...

exactly, one of this Family. I'd rather assume they are edible (esp if it is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pholiota_squarrosoides)
would you want to join the community?
Very tasty looking! In one of the areas I get to travel for work, they make a whole festival around winter mushrooms. Of course, there are many recipes on how to prepare them and cooking. Hopefully there will be some available next time I visit.
thank you for the compliment!
'a whole festival', thats well said, I love like it sounds, those Pholiota always grow in families. And there are different species in the family, and some are quite edible. Havent tried myself yet.
Weird question... Are those safe for adding to foods
no its not weird at all!
this shroow is one of Pholiota family species
most of the species are edible.... so this one probably is edible but I am not 100% sure which of the species it is. if you have the fungi in your hands, you have to identify it with 90% probability (which is not easy to do having only the pics, without smell and tactile feelings...) -- via online guides or apps - and having the faith and knowledge, improve your pizza with it! good luck.
and if you are a fungi lover (I hope so!) join the mushroom community I've started.
Oh I see.. Hehe I have to admit I do love mushrooms almost more than my family😍..
Although I would not take the risk in trying to identify the mushroom to find out if it is safe for my pizza.. Haha I'll leave that for the experts such as yourselves
I have followed the account on which you replied. But if you are speaking of a different account. Feel free to share the name so that I may follow that one aswell
oops! I had put a wrong link in the post.
just corrected it:

Ok Thnx bud.. I will only be able to join tomorrow morning😊 but join I definitely will.. Maybe I can learn a thing or 2 from you
I dont know much about them, I just obsessed with their alien shapes and forms and cool outlook. I meat here on steemit two persons who shoot a great shit of mushrooms (@borjan) and are real experts in shrooms and their taste and edibility (@sketch.and.jam), note their names and #fungifriday ... I am sure, there are tonns of discoveries waiting on the radar.
