Cleaning And Storing The Black Staining Polypore Mushroom

I harvested a specimen of Meripilus sumstinei, the black staining polypore mushroom. This species is said to make a good ground beef substitute when prepared properly. However, due to the places they like to grow, they are a PAIN to clean up. This is my first ever attempt at prepping this mushroom.

Those black fingers reminds me of picking and peeling walnuts from that green shell they have. The juice will stain the skin for a few days too :p

Happy Fungifriday :)
