Aircoins - Looking for Coins Outside in Augmented Reality

avatar

I just got myself a new addiction. There is a game where you can go outside and look for hidden treasures, using your phone with a GPS locator, to make things visible that only exist in the so called "augmented reality". Hmmm.... sure, like Pokemon Go, right? Exactly! A game I never actually got into, since I've always considered the entire concept of pocket monsters sort of silly. So if you substitute these monsters for say cryptocoins, it's a whole different matter all of a sudden, for which I downloaded the app as soon as I heard about AirCoins.

Simple Game Play, But Enough to Clear the Neighborhood

Playing AirCoins is relatively easy and straight forward: The app shows you a map of your surroundings, showing where you can find coins. Once you're 80 meters or closer to it, you can switch to the augmented reality, and see the coin bouncing around in the air. With a tap you can catch it, and reveal what type of coin it is.

At first I just wanted to see what it's like, so I downloaded the app. Before I realized it, I had cleared my street block of any coins. Later that day I went for a walk with my dog... sticking specifically to those streets where coins could be found. Within two days I had cleared up the entire neighborhood. On two occasions I saw a new coin appear in an area where I had just collected all, so I guess eventually coins would reappear, but nowhere close to the pace I would snatch them up!

Good Coins? Bad Coins? And How Much of Them?

So far I've managed to collect 111 coins, which ended up being thirteen different types of cryptocurrencies: ACTN, APL, DMX, ECA, MUXE, NTK, RPI, TRVx, TRX, MUSIC, Collector 2020, BB Magazine, and the game own AIRx AirCoin. Some of these, like the TRVx Travelcoin, are so plentiful that getting 2,000 of them didn't seem like a big deal at all. Others, such as the ECA Electra coin, I only have two of. Not sure if this means they are much better, though.

In fact, I am pretty certain none of these coins is really worth the bother, but then again, I should probably investigate myself. Supposedly one of the cryptos hidden in these game coins is DASH, which I have bought a decent amount of... back before its value dropped into the "don't even bother selling" area, back in 2018. So no, I don't believe this game is for actually accumulating valuable worth, not more than a faucet, anyway.

A Game Worth Playing?

As fun as addictive AirCoins promised to be at first, I can expect it to get boring pretty soon. At the latest I can see this happening once all the coins in my surrounding neighborhoods have been vacuumed up. And then what? Heading over to the exchanges is a logical next step. But how??? As I am noticing, the in-game wallet is still not developed for transferring these coins. So what? Am I going to just hold on to them on my phone? Doubtful! I think I may be closer to deleting the whole app, and forgetting about the thousands of MUXE coins I have collected.
