Immortals Fenyx Rising Gameplay ( PC HD )

The plot will put us in the shoes of Fenyx, who is shipwrecked on the Golden Island (in press releases Ubisoft calls it Golden Island). Soon he will meet Hermes, one of the few gods left to succumb to the power of Typhon, the deadliest Titan, and his creatures from the underworld. Hermes allows you to fully customize the character: gender, hair, facial hair; and it also tells an ancient prophecy that, coincidentally, speaks of a half-god that arrives shipwrecked and is the only person capable of saving the gods. This is how an adventure will begin that will take place in an open world and that will be narrated by Zeus and the titan Prometheus, who will give an animated touch to the adventure, for example, doing tricks when Fenyx falls off a cliff.

As in the game that revolutionized the open worlds three years ago (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, in Immortals Fenyx Rising you can go anywhere from the beginning of the adventure, be it the Plain of Aphrodite, the Forge of Hephaestus or any of the plains, swamps, snowy mountains, deserted areas and underwater areas of the Golden Isle, a location separated into seven ecosystems or biomes, each representing a deity.

The world map is halfway between Nintendo's game and that of an Assassin's Creed: it is much more detailed than the Hyrule map, but there are fewer icons than in Origins and Odyssey. Part of the adventure will be spent selecting icons on the map to go to that place guided by the linear compass at the top of the screen, but it will also make use of a zoom view that will allow to identify areas of interest on the horizon and fix them with a marker on the map so you don't lose sight of them.

This is how some of the gaps will be found, places that will lead to the underworld. In these Chambers of Tartarus, players' wits, logic and skill will be put to the test with platforming and combat challenges. There will be dozens of them scattered around the world and by overcoming them you will get a ray of Zeus, necessary to increase the resistance of Fenyx. In addition to these challenges, there will also be enemy camps around the world that protect interesting equipment and areas that will attract attention (due to architecture, color, presence of enemies, etc.) where there will be puzzles to solve and that will offer Charon coins, necessary for improve Fenyx's skills.

This emphasis on exploration to find challenges seems to also extend to the main missions of the adventure, which will have cinematic scenes and will be directed by a clear script: just as exploration of the world will be motivated, exploration will be motivated in different ways to meet a goal. For example, to light the forge of Hephaestus, you can choose to challenge a minotaur and other enemies to open the vents that take us to the top of a mountain, or go to light the fires of the forge, something that is done throwing coal into a furnace and shooting a fire arrow into it, anticipating a systemic world in which elements and materials react to each other - although we haven't seen any more examples of this.

With the help of the gods

This whole world can be explored on foot, on the back of horses that must previously be tamed, and as they anticipated from the first trailer, flying thanks to one of the many tools that Fenyx will have, the wings of Daedalus, but when using them pay attention to the resistance bar. The combat system will allow fighting on land and from above thanks to the aforementioned item, and it will get deeper as the adventure progresses thanks to two progression systems: obtaining items by reaching goals in the plot and improving Fenyx.

As you complete missions, you will get legendary weapons such as the Hammer of Hephaestus, the Bow of Odysseus and the Sword of Achilles, each with its own peculiarities; and utensils such as the bracers of Heracles, which will serve to propel himself towards the enemy as if it were a hook and as a magnet, for example, to catch the rocks thrown by a huge Minotaur in flight. This mythological creature is just one of many that will have to be faced: Cyclops, Flying Harpies, Hecatonchires, etc., without neglecting soldiers from the underworld and huge final bosses like Medusa.

In addition to equipment, Fenyx's powers and gadgets can be upgraded. With fast travel you can instantly go to many destinations, but it will be used mostly to return again and again to the Hall of the Gods. There, Charon's Coins can be spent to enhance divine powers and unlock new combos and uses for Legendary Weapons and Utensils; customize the physical appearance of the character and cook the necessary potions (with the ingredients distributed throughout the world) that can be used on the fly, even in the middle of an aerial combat to restore resistance or heal us just before a mortal blow.

What I think of the game after playing

In short, it is one of those games in which you want to put a good handful of hours at first, especially now that, unlike with Assassin's Creed, I can also do it with my children to the side or passing the controller. You want to see more of Immortals: Fenyx Rising and, above all, to see if the quality level of the latest blockbusters of the assassins carries over to this project as well.
