Furfrou frollics into Pokémon GO with Fashion Week 2021

Fashion Week has started again, this event took place last year and is now taking place again this year. It will run until September 28 at 8 pm local time. Furfrou the Poodle Pokémon is making its debut into Pokémon GO with this event. Some new stylishly dressed Pokémon are appearing and those from last year are returning as well.

Here you can see some photos of my first Furfrou encounter and its Pokédex registry.

Furfrou has many different forms and many of these are only available in certain parts of the world. If you travel there sometime you will be able to change your Furfrou's form while you're there. Here is a list of the forms and their locations:

• Natural Form: Available in the wild globally
• Matron Trim: Available as a form change globally
• Dandy Trim: Available as a form change globally
• Debutante Trim: Available as a form change in the Americas
• Diamond Trim: Available as a form change in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
• Star Trim: Available as a form change in the Asia-Pacific
• La Reine Trim: Available as a form change in France
• Kabuki Trim: Available as a form change in Japan
• Pharaoh Trim: Available as a Form change in Egypt
• Heart Trim: Stay tuned!

For me it's possible right now to have the Natural Form, the Matron, Dandy and Diamond Trim. If I travel a bit around Europe I could also get the La Reine Trim. For the other ones I'll have to travel further away.

The Heart Trim is most likely going to become available with the annual Valentine event in February.

New stylishly dressed Pokémon with this event are Butterfree, Sneasel and Blitzle. These can all be found in the wild and have the chance to be Shiny. Butterfree will have the lowest spawn rate. Additionally Sneasel and Blitzle can also be encountered from event Field Research Tasks being "Take a snapshot of Butterfree, Shinx or Blitzle in the wild" and "Make 3 curveball throws in a row" respectively. This does confuse me a bit since there was no mention of Shinx being in the wild.

Shiny Blitzle is becoming available for the first time in Pokémo GO now. After the event the normal Blitzle without a costume remains with a Shiny potential. It just won't be easy to find after the event due to a low spawn rate currently.

Last year we had Smoochum, Kirlia, Shinx and Croagunk with a fashionable costume. Kirlia and Croagunk are also appearing in the wild. Smoochum and Shinx will be in 7 km Eggs alongside Alolan Meowth and Galarian Meowth.

From the costumed Pokémon, Sneasel, Shinx, Butterfree and Kirlia will be appearing in Raids too.

There are some Timed Research tasks as part of the event found under the today view. Completing all of them will reward a Furfrou Wig avatar item that will becoming available in the style shop after the event too.

Fashionable Trainers are appearing a PokéStops throughout the event in the same way as Team GO Rocket Grunts. You will notice a PokéStop has one of these Trainers when the cube starts shaking. It will not become dark coloured like with Rocket Grunts. So you can distinguish them from a distance. These Trainers bring different forms of Furfrou. Defeating them gives some items like Pokéballs, berries, potions, revives and also rewards 500 Stardust. Here are some screenshot of a few of these Trainers and their Furfrou in battle.

At part 8 we're back on hold with the Special Research.

A new Special Research "Finding Your Voice" has also been released with this event. It's the Special Research for Meloetta, the Melody Pokémon.

Those Trainers that already have Meloetta still get this Special Research but will receive additional Meloetta Candy instead of another encounter with it.

During this Fashion Week I'll definitely be trying to hatch some 7 km Eggs because I didn't get the costumed Shinx last year. It's not really great since these costumed Pokémon can't evolve, but I would still like to have at least one of them.
