Hi everyone's!!!

Continued from the previous post

At least close to thousands and even more fishermen in Aceh have stopped fishing because they respect the holy Idul Adha 1441 Hijriyah, while respecting the local wisdom of the local community, especially the Pusong Village of Lhokseumawe City, not doing fishing for 7 days, which begins on the day Friday 31 July 2020 which has been going on a few days ago.

This holiday is considered to be abstinence from going to sea which has been in effect for a long time, and it is the custom of fishermen throughout Aceh. stop from fishing or in the local language is said as Uroë Panta'ng for fishermen in Aceh, often occurs on every 10-12 Zulhijjah or if today from 31 July to 2 August 2020.

Regulations that have been in effect since ancient times until today, have been agreed by every Commander of Laot (Panglima Loet) in Aceh, this matter has been amended in the Maritime Law especially in the Aceh region.

In determining this law, of course, it refers to Islamic religious law which incidentally is due to the majority of Acehnese Muslim people who are spread throughout the world, and to this day Acehnese fishermen have adopted the law agreed upon and approved by the Indonesian government itself.

Make use of vacation time for fishermen

In this holiday moment, many fishing communities take advantage of their free time by rehabilitating and completing all the needs of fishing that are considered lacking, so in this case fishermen do:

  1. Renew wooden (Boat) body paint to make it look new
  2. Repairing the road engine and lighting engine so that it lasts
  3. Improving trawlers and other fishing gear so that they are even more powerful in catching fish off the sea
  4. Complete everything that is considered important in fishing.

Each large wooden ship is led to a special location or local time said as the ship dock, which is located not far from the dermaganya.

Not only large vessels that reach 12 meters and 5 meters wide are also about 8 meters high, also small boats as large boat partners are also checked where necessary to carry out fishing activities later.

Repair for the sake of repairs will still be done by a special crew in charge of maintaining and repairing any deficiencies of the ship itself.
Not only that, there are also other crew members whose tasks are almost equal to their officers, often referred to as Aneuk Itek, these are the people who live on land and who control everything the needs of the wooden boat before departing offshore in catching fish or doing routine operations every day.

Crews or other crew members also spend time doing repairs of large trawlers very long and large, in general fishing gear or trawlers are made very long, if measured to have a length of about 5,000 meters with a trawler height of about 50 meters, if you pay attention to wooden ships that are operating then trawl trawl very clearly seen on the boat.

Activities for the sake of activities will still be carried out during the holidays, this event is carried out when the afternoon after carrying out general activities with out in welcoming the Eid al-Adha. Likewise with the wooden boat owners they also spend additional budget for the wooden boat crews as long as they do not go to sea or are on holiday.

Thus a review of the traditional Acehnese fishermen, in welcoming the holiday period or in welcoming the Eid al-Adha, I hope you like it and thank you very much.
