Saba Banana of the Philippines

I like bananas. I eat bananas specially the saba variety as dinner for my weight loss program. That is why whenever these two good looking banana vendors roam around our streets to sell their bananas, nothing can stop me but to go out and buy !

Saba banana, is a triploid hybrid banana cultivar originating from the Philippines. It is primarily a cooking banana, though it can also be eaten raw. It is one of the most important banana varieties in Philippine cuisine.

Bananas are rich in potassium, fiber, and natural sugars. However, according to Doctors of Ministry in Alternative Medicines (DMAM), cardava bananas or ‘saging na saba’ contain the highest amount of nutrients our body needs compared to other types of bananas.

Eaah of these bananas costs only 50 pesos. You can boil it or fry itor grill it or eat it raw but for me , I always put it in my Herbalife shake as my nutritional alternative food replacement.

Thanks to these guys who sells bananas and roam our streets every afternoon aboard their ever dependable bicycles. Despite the pandemic and the dangers of being infected with covid 19, they still bravely sells their nutritious bananas for our health and for their livelihood. I salute them and wish them to be safe.

Thanks for sharing @eagleriggs. I'm not sure if I have had that banana, but there is a very similar looking banana species in Cambodia called the "chicken egg" banana, and it's also better suited for cooking.

In my information, this kind of banana can find only in the Philippines. The "chicken-egg" banana can found also in India... (^_^)
