Young Lady Face Mask Vendor, a Hero too!

Face masks are one tool utilized for preventing the spread of disease. They may also be called dental, isolation, laser, medical, procedure, or surgical masks. Face masks are loose-fitting masks that cover the nose and mouth, and have ear loops or ties or bands at the back of the head. There are many different brands and they come in different colors.

Since the pandemic started and people are encouraged to stay home, There are many vendors roaming in our streets. From vegetables, fish, fruits, snacks, coconut juice vendors and now I met Cat ! A young girl, only at 17 years old, selling face masks as she goes from one house to another.

Unlike the regular surgical face masks, Cat's face masks is a little thicker than the usual. She told me that her face masks are home made and her mother sew them. It comes is different vibrant colors to match the color of your outfit for the day.

The pricre of her face masks is only 20 pesos each. A lot less expensive than the ones available in drugstores. It may not give the best protection against the virus, it does give protection for Cat's daily needs. It is from these face masks where her family gets their source of income. It is in the small amount she gets in selling face masks where food in the table cones from.

We consider our frontliners like the doctors, nurses, hospital employees as the heroes of this pandemic. I agree to that a hundred percent . However i would like to consider all the other street vendors like Cat who bravely roam the streets to sell their products despite the danger that they may get infected just to support their families and in order to survive. They are heroes too !
