Animal poco común en la isla,(LA TERECAYA)./ Rare animal on the island, (LA TERECAYA).

Estas terecayas que muestro aquí son de mi abuela, tiene muchos años con ellas, me atrevo a decir que algunas tienen más de 15 años. mi abuela se enfermo y yo estoy al cuido de sus plantas y animales,bueno ya quedan pocos animales,por que se los han robado.

Hablaré un poco sobre este animal, La terecaya es una especie de tortuga de agua dulce,viven en ríos y lagos.su caparazón se vuelve muy suave por permanecer tanto tiempo en el agua, y se podría romper con facilidad. A pesar de ser semiacuáticas, prefieren desenvolverse en agua que en tierra.

I will talk a little about this animal, Terecaya is a kind of freshwater turtle, they live in rivers and lakes, their shell becomes very soft from staying in the water for so long, and it could break easily. Despite being semi-aquatic, they prefer to function in water than on land.

Cuando se encuentran amenazadas, tienden a morder, y su mordedura es un bastante fuerte... se alimentan de peces y plantas . Las hembras colocan de 20a30huevos dos veces al año.
Mi abuela las conserva y las cuida mucho estás terecayas..

When threatened, they tend to bite, and their bite is quite strong ... they feed on fish and plants. Females lay 20-30 eggs twice a year. My grandmother preserves them and takes great care of these terecayas.
