In geology, rock (singular) and rock (plural) are solid or solid objects naturally occurring from minerals and or mineraloid. Earth's solid outer layer, the lithosphere, is made of rock.

In general, there are three types of rocks, namely igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. Scientific research on rocks is known as petrology, and petrology is an important component of geology.

In buildings, stone is usually used on the foundation of a building for buildings with a height of less than 10 meters. Rock is also used to beautify the building facade by providing a unique color and texture of natural stone
