Changing Steem Node for your DApps in Steem Keychain

For the past few days we have been having some glitches in using Steemit user interface and other DApps as well. From what I noticed today, the steem node Anyx.io is quite stable compared to the native api.steemit.com RPC node. For non technical people, these are the nodes using which the front end applications like Steemit, SteemPeak, Busy.org etc. and the DApps connect with the steem blockchain. Steemit.com uses api.steemit.com as their node which seem to be buggy.

I'm not quite sure what is wrong with the chain and why it is taking lots of time to fix the issue and reinstate the chain operations. From the looks of it, not all the nodes are fully functional but from morning, I'm able to notice that Anyx.io works fine for me, so I have switched to that node for all my DApps and bots.

In this article I would like to mention a simple way to use Anyx.io as your node. If you are someone who is using Steem Keychain like me, it is pretty simple to change the preferences to Anyx.io. If you change this preference, all the applications that you use with the help of Steem Keychain will be fine and you will be able to perform all the operations.

Today I noticed that I was unable to vote or do any operations using my mobile interface where I don't use steem Keychain. I guess in mobile after I login using the private posting key, the DApps automatically take api.steemit.com as their default node and that could be a reason why I was unable to use any apps in my mobile.

Coming back to the topics, I would recommend having Anyx.io as the RPC node in your DApps and user interfaces because I personally felt that it was a lot more stable compared to the other RPC nodes.
