Isabella of Portugal (in Spanish Isabel de Portugal) was daughter of John of Portugal and Isabel of Barcelos, granddaughter of John I of Portugal (they pictures are below).

Isabella of Portugal in 1447 become the second wife of John II of Castile(1405-1454)(the king of Castile) which had son Henry IV of Castile from the first marriage. Isabella gave birth for him two children:
Isabella I of Castile(1451-1504)(also known as Isabella the Catholich which became queen of Castile after the death of Henry IV in 11 December 1474 (her picture bellow)

Isabella of Portugal also gave birth the son, the brother of Isabella I of Castilla-Alfonso, prince of Asturias (1453-1468) which had to become a king of Castile after the death of Henry IV. Sadly, he died in 1468 due to illness or plague (it isn't exactly known). But many nobles thought that he was poisoned...

Isabella of Portugal was still alive when her daughter finally became the queen. On the one hand sad that she did not live any longer. But on the other hand, it's good that did not have to bury his daughter like that of her son...

(in picture bellow is the tomb of Isabella of Portugal)
