This time I present a woman which didn't belong for the Ottoman empire epoch ,,Sultanate of Women"(1534-1656/1683). She is also not as well known as Hürrem Sultan (also known as Roxelana) or Kösem Sultan (also known as Mahpeyker). This woman is Mihrişah Sultan (in picture bellow is her mausoleum)

Mihrişah Sultan was born about in 1745 and was the daughter of Georgian orthodox priest. She was the consort of sultan Mustafa III(1717-1774) and became his wife the he became the ruler of Ottoman empire in 30 October 1757 (his picture bellow)

In 1761 she gave birth the 28th ruler of Ottoman empire Selim III(1761-1808)(picture bellow).

After the death of III Mustafa she was sent to the Old Palace because ruler became Abdülhamid I. But after his death in 1789 her son Selim III became sultan and she became Valide sultan. It is said that she from 1789 until her death in 1805 was de facto co-regent during the reign of her state. But mostly she is known because of her religiousness and philanthropy. She also founded many schools and mosques in 1790s.
