Woman in history-Sisowath Kossamak
Today I decided to create a post about woman of which I think little is known in Europe - it's Sisowath Kossamak.
She was born in 9 April 1904, in Phnom Penh-the capital of Kingdom of Cambodia. In 1920 she married to Norodom Suramarit and gave birth for him a son Norodom Sihanouk (her husband picture below).
In 3 Mach 1955 her husband become a king of Cambodia and she became a queen consort of Cambodia. After her husband death she became a Queen of Combodia and ruled country 20 June 1960-9 October 1970. She is one of only free female monarchs in Cambodia history.
After the coup of 1970 she was placed under house arrest. In 1973 she was allowed to join her son in China where she died in 27 April 1975
