Chicken with Sliced Potatoes and Carrots (Eng/Esp)

English version

For lunch today, I made chicken stew with short pasta. Sometimes, something as simple as how you chop the ingredients can change the taste—because when the flavors are more pronounced in each bite, your palate reacts differently and sends a new signal to the brain. Let’s see what I mean—let’s embark on another adventure in the kitchen.

Ingredients:

  • 6 pieces of chicken
  • 2 potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 6 sweet peppers
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 bell pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 liters of water
  • 1/2 kilo of short pasta
  • Oil

Preparation:

I washed the vegetables and herbs. I soaked the chili peppers and bell peppers in water to remove the seeds, then cut them into julienne strips. I did the same with the onions after peeling them.

Next, I peeled the potatoes and carrots and sliced them.

I washed the chicken and placed it in a pot with a little oil, which gave it a slightly crispy coating. I cooked it for 8 minutes.

Shortly after, I added the seasonings and a pinch of salt, continuing to stir. I added the potato and carrot pieces. I added 1/4 cup of water to help cook these vegetables. It was ready in twenty minutes.

To round out my lunch, I made some short pasta. I put two liters of water and a tablespoon of salt in a pot, waited for it to come to a boil, and added the pasta. It was tender in eight minutes, so I drained it and tossed it with a little butter.

The final step was to serve it: a layer of pasta on the bottom, a little grated cheese, and the chicken stew in between. And that concludes this recipe.
