April 21, 2020 marked the 4 year anniversary of Prince's passing.
The day after his death I began the process of creating a piano rendition of Purple Rain.
Usually, an artist's most popular song is not also my favorite, but this is the exception.
Purple Rain is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
Prince meant a great deal to me musically and his passing deeply affected me.
I like to post this each year in remembrance of this truly great and inspiring artist.

I haven't ever felt motivated by prince, but that was nice. I like the sort of ambient vocals, mixed with the more passionate playing, and you executed it well.

You into Harold Budd?

He's one of my favorite pianists:

Specifically this album:

I think a bit more melancholic than your sound. It's kind of like my xanax album.

Harold Budd - La Bella Vista

It's basically 48 minutes of exploring one mellow theme on a piano.

I used to really enjoy stuff like frantic, noise, dissonance, manic, doom, etc, cause I felt like I could sympathize with it, and such.

These days, those sorts of songs short my fuse, and I just want some ambient piano for extended periods of time.

They even have a warning as an album title in case of overdose -- "An Hour a Day, No More..." Harold Budd and Robin Guthrie.
