Busy Beetle

This Summer my Daisies were being attacked by an insect I hadn't seen before.
I took a few pictures in hopes of identifying it.
They sure looked like Beetles to me but kind of Beetle is it???
There many many different ones.

The closest match I could find was the Hairy flower chafer
Trichiotinus affinis /Scarabaeid

If I have properly identified this insect and after having read different sources of information, I learned the adult Hairy flower chafers eat leaves, flowers and plants.

One by one they ate all the petals off my Daisies.

I refuse to use toxic pesticides to control insects as it harmful and deadly to all our precious pollinators.

I got to thinking about the "hairy"
in the name Hairy flower chafer
I zoomed and enlarged a couple of pictures to see if could see any hair.
I placed a red dot and just above the dot I do believe I see what is referred to as hair.

I did take a few pictures of my Daisies flowers before Hairy Chafer ate them all
😊

The Daisies are hardy perennials and will flower again next year.
I will have find or make something organic I use next year if need be to discourage these hungry Beetles from eating my Daisies.
