For some at least :)

Red spider mites flower macro .jpg

I almost forgot how those little beasts can take over a whole lawn full of flowers. I saw a mass infestation some years ago where every single flower, bud and stem had those little passengers.

Few weeks ago when we went to the countryside I saw them again. Less of them thankfully, but they were there. Wherever I looked the flowers had red dots on.
Having flower parties!

Can you see them on the anthers? All covered in pollen look almost like part of the plant :)

Those Red Spider Mites are super small and a single one or even a few will not make much damage. But when suddenly there is literally hundreds of them on a plant - the plant is in trouble. They ca be found both in flower and veggie garden. They will suck the juices of the leaves and petal and those with multiple wounds will eventually dry and die. I guess they also enjoy some pollen not and then.

Evil little beasts, but don't they look good on photos?

Wow, nice shots, I could see how these could decimate a whole garden quite quickly.

Where are the aphids when you want them :)

Yes indeed, the colorful red spider mite pests add a bit of dazzle to your floral images!

Do you know of an easy, natural way to get rid of them? Do you have ladybugs where you live? They do a thorough job of eating destructive aphids.🐞🌿

I actually didn't see any ladybugs around them. They would have a nice feast!
Those were wild flowers, so any insect could go and eat some of the suckers. Maybe they don't taste good...

You would love them less if they munched all your veggies from a garden :p
But they are super cool to photograph!

Have a great Sunday :)
