I did not mention the name of this insect in the title, as I am quite unsure of it. I was pointed out the resemblance to the Cetonia aurata. But I did not agree with the proposed option. And again I did not like the mustache of the insect. They are quite different from the mustache of the option offered to me.

So after digging a bit on Wikipedia, I came to the conclusion that I came across an insect belonging to the genus Cryptocephalus. But I do not rule out that I could be wrong.

Is it bug?

As ridiculous as it may sound, all beetles are insects.

It also reminds me of a dogbane leaf beetle.

There is a certain resemblance, except for the color of the shell. Compared to photos posted on the wiki. The wiki also states that it is found in North America, and whether it lives in Europe is not specified.

Dogbanes look a bit smoother as well.
