Everything was fine until David Luiz happened

In the 80th minute, the camera peered to Arteta's face and you could instantly tell what was going through his mind. It was probably the same face Alexandra wore when he was betrayed by his inner council. After seemingly planning everything to perfection, we were undone by a singular action of the man that is supposed to be the most experienced player in the team.

He'll take to social media to drop the usual "I'm sorry I let you down" crap to the fans but lets face it, David Luiz is always going to be a disaster waiting to happen and we can't rely on him.

The entire game was an emotional rollercoaster that started at nirvana and petered out into a rage filled anger directed at David Luiz. It's hard to think about anything else that happened in the game but alas, I'll do my best.

We started well, and played like a team with purpose. There was cohesion and players acting like moving parts of a well oiled machine. We were so good that we had the ball in the net within the first minute but that was ruled out for offside. Moments later, Bukayo Saka struck the crossbar after a sublime pass from Thomas Partey found him in space.

The game proceeded in the same manner, as we pressed on in search of the opening goal. There was a good feeling about the way we played and the goal felt inevitable.

After an intricate pass and move between lacazette, Nicholas Pepe found himself in a bit of space and then slalomed his way past two opposing defenders then curled the ball into the net on his weaker foot.

After getting the goal, Wolvs pushed for the equaliser but were barely threatening. In fact, we looked more likely to score the next goal of the game. However, a sudden counter attack in the dying embers of the second half led to the red card, penalty and David Luiz getting sent off.

The second half came around and the home side grabbed one more goal to take them ahead. As if that wasn't bad enough, Leno spent too much time with David Luiz and had his own brainfart moment, and was sent off for handling the ball outside the 18 yard box.

The Pain

At the end of the day, it is never nice to lose a game. Especially a game where the team actually looked interested and could have wiped the floor with the opposition. After a bright start, everything got undone by the person that should be the calm head in the team.

This is a clear case of self sabotage by players in the team that you expect to step up in these circumstances. We lost a game that we had no right to lose and that's the most pain.

Oh well

on a positive note, it was nice to see the boys actually playing football and being able to find themselves on the pitch. If I was being honest, we don't deserve Thomas Partey because he's just too damn good.

His positioning, tackling, ball retention and eye for a pass is something out of this world. Also, it was nice to see Nicholas Pepe getting game time and proving the critics wrong.

I have to question the substitution that took Pepe off for bring Auba by the way. I think Emile-sMith was already exhausted and should have been the one replaced.

Other than Pepe, we were generally good today in all areas of the field. The whole structure and gameplan came undone by one man's foolishness. Now we must move on to the next game; a tough fixture against Aston Villa on the road. Until we meet again, up the Arsenal

Bro. This was the most painful match I have seen in a long time. It took me back to the Wenger days where we played beautifully and still lost

Blaming David Luiz is harsh. He's not going in for the challenge. The red is, unfortunately, given by the book but still I don't think David Luiz is to blame.

Everything was fine until that moment. He could have just let the goal enter without pulling down Jose William and we'd have still won that game.

David Luiz has a few good games and then is always on hand to ruin one or two. Constantly a threat to his team. It is frustrating.

After watching it again, I think it was really unfair to book David Luiz but damn, why always him? 😭

The rules says he should be given the red, but the rule is stupid. I hope they evaluate it after this and Bednareks incident yesterday.
