Euro 2020 Day #11 Previews

I am following the European Football Championship making previews on all matches while having some fun betting small stakes.

For me, the most fun stage of the tournament which are the first 2 rounds where you are able to watch all games getting to know all the teams better is now over. By now, everyone has got a much better grip on everything while matches are being played at the same time with some teams no longer having to win. The main pre-game positions won yesterday but I lost another Live bet getting in on Turkey 1H a bit too quickly after they had a good start (I tend to make that mistake more often). Still some profit on the day.

4 matches today in Group B & C with some very specific circumstances.

North Macedonia vs Netherlands

Both are more offensive-minded teams with the Netherlands winning both their matches and North Macedonia losing both despite having managed to score in each of their matches. The Dutch side has had the home advantage in each of their games so far which worked for them putting up solid offensive performances while at the same time showing they are vulnerable in defense. This one is expected as an open match with plenty of goals and The Netherlands coming out on top which is exactly what the odds suggest. Getting in on the over early on probably would have been the best move, by now the line has move to the point where it's not really an option. Energy conservation at some point might also get priority. The only bet that is slightly tempting for me is both to score but with keeping a lean sheet being a working point, this might get some focus for the home side. No Pre-Game Bets

Ukraine vs Austria

So a draw makes it so that both teams most likely will qualify for the next round leaving them with 4 points and a neutral goal Saldo. The odds are set to it with the bookies giving 2.086 for it. Ukraine so far has looked like the better team but I guess my view can be clouded by the fact that they AA Gent Striker Yaremchuk which I like plays with them. Regardless of what bets to take, the draw should always be at least covered. The draw remains the most likely result in this match and I might take it in-game in case 1 team takes the lead. Most likely these matches start out quite normal. if 1 team manages to score, they start laying back indirectly allowing the opponent to score the 1-1 for both to just totally stop taking any kind of risk with a lot of midfield play afterward. I did end up taking a tiny 0.05 unit bet on Ukraine +0 @ 1.91 who I see as the team with more quality. I'm keeping stakes low knowing I'm quite biased about it.

Russia vs Denmark

Denmark is left with 0 points but still are able to finish 2nd in case they win with a big enough margin with Belgium winning against Finland. They played an excellent 1st half against Belgium actually being in the lead until the individual class of Belgium took over. Russia will be qualified with a point and I totally expect them to lay back and lure on the counter with Denmark taking a hot start in this match not crawling back in case they take the lead. I took 2 tiny 0.05 unit bets on this match with Denmark 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.952 and Denmark Corners 1st Half -0.75 @ 1.73. Denmark also plays at home which has shown to be an advantage in this tournament.

Finland vs Belgium

It is hard not to see Belgium as the big favorite with the quality they have shown so far also knowing Finland should be the weakest team in their group. Hazard, De Bruyne & Wistel are set to play but others likely will get some rest and in a match where not losing gives them the group win. Belgium usually has no mercy in these kinds of matches and tends to trash smaller teams just for fun if they can. Finland needs a point and will most likely once again put all on defense. As much as I want to take Belgium to get an easy win with multiple goals, by default I tend to stay away from big favorites especially in a match like this where a win for the favorite is not an absolute must. I love your analysis but for me i dont see Denmark defeating Russia although there is possibility of the match ending in draw. So for me i will rather it is better to play the game win or draw than playing the match as straight winning.
