Who is your G.O.A.T? Christiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi?
Over the years, one of the many controversial topics in the football space have been the issue of who is the best between Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. It is one topic that usually brings the most arguments among football fans and supporters. Some say Christiano Ronaldo is the best while some say Lionel Messi is the best. Both answers are correct because we are entitled to our own opinions and also, there's been no perfect yardstick to use in making the comparison.

For me, life is not a competition and we shouldn't always see ourselves as competitors rather we should compliment each other. There's no gain trying to compare two good, great and outstanding players. They both have their unique strength, features and abilities that makes them sort after. For me, they are great players and the football world should be glad to have them. None is better than the other but I just seem to like Christiano Ronaldo more than Lionel Messi because of his personal characteristics.
The duo Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are personalities that would be greatly missed by fans once they retire or quit from active football. They are exceptionally great players that have broken and also kept numerous records in the football world. Speaking of trophies, they have both amassed it as individuals and as team players. We will never see anyone play like them but we will sure have people who will play better than them.
For many consecutive years, these two names have been taking home the ballon d'or with Lionel Messi winning it the highest number of times. But slowly, we have new names winning the trophy as both players are not in their best forms recently. You won't blame Christiano Ronaldo all that because he is advancing in age however, he is still delivering even better than many younger strikers.
For a fact, right now, assuming I have a team, I'll prefer Christiano Ronaldo over every other attacker. I just love his style of play, his aggressiveness, hardwork and hunger for goals. He is my kind of player but that doesn't make him better than Lionel Messi and vice versa. So, if you ask me, I would say that people cut off the comparison thing and begin to celebrate and appreciate both players. You can choose to make one your favourite but don't compare.
What baffles me more is seeing people quarrel, rant and argue seriously whenever this topic comes up. And I'm like, what the hell? These two don't even know you exist yet you are fighting and quarrelling over them? It's a matter of being matured though because matured people see things differently. In real life, I don't think Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi aren't friends but some fans are beefing because of them. Arrrgggh!!
I just hope either of them get to play for my favourite club Liverpool F before their retirements. I'd be so happy as a Liverpool FC fans.
Great analysis! the duo are great and successful in their carrier. the big question is, what is the deliberate road map put in place as a succession plan? Are they mentoring players to be better or at least be like them?
