¡El Makeup Challenge de esta semana se viste de Mitología Griega! Un tema muy interesante, o por lo menos para mi si que lo es. Cabe destacar que la Mitología Griega es muy pero muy amplia, su historia es realmente sorprendente y contiene personajes muy peculiares. Para este reto de diosas griegas no sabia cual escoger, ya que muchas de ellas me gustaban, por lo que decidí escribirle a mi mejor amigo el cual sabe mucho más que yo sobre el tema. Él me recomendó a Perséfone y yo decidí recrearla, a mi manera, basándome en parte de su historia.

This week's Makeup Challenge is dressed in Greek Mythology! A very interesting topic, or at least for me it is. It should be noted that the Greek Mythology is very, very broad, its history is really surprising and contains very peculiar characters. For this challenge of Greek goddesses I didn't know which one to choose, since I liked many of them, so I decided to write to my best friend who knows much more about the subject than I do. He recommended Persephone to me and I decided to recreate her, in my own way, based on part of her story.

Perséfone era la hija de Zeus y Deméter. Es la diosa de la primavera, fertilidad, flores y estaciones. Esta se convierte en la Reina del Inframundo al casarse con Hades quien la había llevado ha dicho lugar tras raptarla mientras recogía flores. Zeus que no podía soportar mas la agonía y desolación en la tierra ya que su madre Deméter había dejado sus deberes de lado para buscar a su hija. Manda a Hermes a rescatarla pero se le impone una condición, esta no debía comer nada en todo el trayecto, pero Hades la engaña para que comiese 6 Semillas de granada (La fruta del Hades/Inframundo) y así se vio obligada a volver cada año durante 6 meses al inframundo, uno por cada semilla comida.

Persephone was the daughter of Zeus and Demeter. She is the goddess of spring, fertility, flowers and seasons. She became the Queen of the Underworld when she married Hades who had taken her away after kidnapping her while she was picking flowers. Zeus could no longer bear the agony and desolation on earth, since his mother Demeter had left her duties aside to look for her daughter. She sends Hermes to rescue her but a condition is imposed on her, she should not eat anything along the way, but Hades tricks her into eating 6 Pomegranate Seeds (The fruit of Hades/Inframundo) and so she is forced to return every year for 6 months to the underworld, one for each seed eaten.

Conociendo un poco de la historia de Perséfone decidí realizar este maquillaje en 2 partes. Una mitad de mi rostro iba a representar los 6 meses en los cuales Perséfone esta junto a Deméter. Y la otra mitad representa los 6 meses donde se encuentra con Hades, en el inframundo.

Knowing a little of Persephone's history I decided to make this makeup in 2 parts. One half of my face was going to represent the 6 months in which Persephone is next to Demeter. And the other half represents the 6 months where she meets Hades, in the underworld.

Como en casi todos mis maquillajes comencé por los ojos, ya con mis cejas previamente realizadas. En el lado de la "naturaleza" me hice algo más sencillo, pero bonito. Por lo que tome una sombra rosada neón y la posicioné desde la mitad de ojo hasta la esquina exterior, sacándola un poco. Esto lo intensifique y en lado interior del ojos coloque una sombra rosada Shimmer.

As in almost all my make-up, I started with the eyes, with my eyebrows already done. On the "nature" side I did something simpler, but beautiful. So I took a neon pink shadow and positioned it from the middle of the eye to the outer corner, taking it out a little. This intensified it and on the inner side of the eye I placed a pink Shimmer shadow.

En el lado que representa el inframundo comencé con un tono marrón claro para crear una transición. Luego tome una sombra negra desde la esquina interior del ojo hasta la mitad y de ahí hacia afuera. También rellene los espacios en blanco con mucha sombra negra, para que quedara muy intenso.

On the side that represents the underworld I started with a light brown shade to create a transition. Then I took a black shadow from the inner corner of the eye to the middle and from there to the outside. I also filled in the blanks with a lot of black shadow to make it very intense.

Para crear el fuego del inframundo tome un corrector muy claro y lo coloque de forma irregular por donde quería que estuviese, igualmente desde el centro hacia la esquina exterior. A esto le aplique una sombra naranja un poco neón, un poco de rojo y un toque de amarillo.

To create the fire of the underworld take a very light concealer and place it irregularly where you want it to be, equally from the center to the outside corner. To this I applied an orange shadow, a little neon, a little red and a touch of yellow.

Procedí a hacer la piel con base y corrector en la zona de las ojeras. Y después a recrear parte de lo que hice en los ojos, en la piel. Del lado del inframundo seguí la misma idea. Comencé marcando con negro, rellené, aplique corrector y encima de esto las sombras naranja, rojo y amarillo. Fuera del negro decidí colocar un poco de naranja para crear más dimensión. Parte de esto lo coloque en el cuello, para seguir con el mismo estilo.

I proceeded to make the skin with base and concealer in the area of the dark circles. And then to recreate part of what I did on the eyes, on the skin. On the underworld side I followed the same idea. I started by marking with black, filled in, applied concealer and on top of this the orange, red and yellow shadows. Out of the black I decided to put a little orange to create more dimension. Part of this I put on the neck, to continue with the same style.

Del lado más colorido Coloque bastante iluminador y rubor. También realicé varias lineas verdes de manera irregular y en la punta de estas coloque varias flores, blancas y rosadas. Igualmente lo estuve bajando hasta el cuello, para seguir a la par con el otro lado del maquillaje. En los labios también los estuve haciendo a la mitad, de un lado negro y del otro rosado.

On the more colorful side put enough highlighter and blush. I also made several green lines in an irregular way and at the end of these I placed several flowers, white and pink. I also lowered it to the neck, to keep up with the other side of the makeup. On the lips I also did them halfway, on one side black and on the other pink.
