Residential Urbex; waiting for the reaper

Maes Mynan Hall was built as a country home in the mid 19thC and latterly in the late 20thC was converted into a residential care home for the elderly. It has been empty since its closure in 2013.

Gates chained, wall climbed, window security plate loose, tight squeeze, take a breath, go on push, that’s a good boy and relax; let’s go mooch, nice curtains.

Fair play to chef, an enterprising menu, though probably more like school dinners than the fat duck. Branston Pickle, small chunks, easier to chew when you take your dentures out.

Next door to the kitchen stored medical stuff and HP sauce

Moving on up, as M People sang back in the day there wasn’t much to see in the residential part, other than fixtures and fittings and a few bits and bobs

So all in all an hour or so meandering round this old place, I expected more, still it was interesting not knowing what is round the next corner or what is behind another closed door. At least it hadn’t been trashed tagged or sprayed.

I have read that it’s been sold and planning permission given to bash it about, talk of it becoming a venue for an “escape room”. Well to be honest you are a bit late with that as I have, and live to tell the tale.

HP Sauce is everywhere, even I see it in the wrecks I frequent. I think a few more care homes might be targeted soon.

If we are to believe the news, most of the old people have died of COVID-19 so why keep them open?

Damn that's a nice find, so many artifacts intact and memories probably in this place. I see the caretaker is still occasionally haunting the place :)

Some lovely old photographs there. I love the old wooden furniture as it reminds me of stuff my grandparents had when I was a nipper. Looks like somebody was in need of a few old handles.
