Food after Flores de Mayo

Flores de Mayo happens every month of May. This is where the children go to church. Some teenagers serve as sisters or teachers. Every child will be taught about the words of God. It's in the church so expect the lessons where the teenagers are being taught came from the Bible. Children will be taught about how to be nice to other people. They will be also taught about socializing with other children.

It will start at 2 pm until 4 pm. 1 hour in teaching the children and after that they will all go inside the church. That's the time they will pray and sing a praising song. While singing every child will offer flowers to Mother Mary. That's part of our tradition and it became a daily activity for the children every month of May.

The pandemic is still ruining everything but no one can break the faith of a Christian. Despite having the restrictions of our place. The church together with the locals decided to continue the Flores de Mayo. Foods or snacks are being part of this kind of activity. Children are being used to it so without food there's no assurance that children will attend. Just let it be because we know children.

About the food, some good Samaritans will offer sponsorship every day. They will reach out to those who organized the Flores de Mayo. They will tell them that on this specific day they will be the ones to give or offer food. Some are not rich so the foods or snacks will not be the same because it depends on the budget of the one who sponsors it.

By the way, let's add more information about Flores de Mayo. I didn't know in detail but Flores de Mayo was already happening before I could imagine. I just learned that the Spanish who influenced us so much were the ones who brought this up to the Filipinos in our country Philippines. Flores de Mayo or in English translation, it's the Flowers of May. Now at least you have a little bit of information about it now.

So the food will be given after the prayers. Since children are not allowed to go outside or to attend this activity. The teenagers or the ones who organized it distribute the remaining food to every child. In every house or when they will see children outside.

It's nice to see children being happy tho. It might be that much but at least they're giving a smile to the children.
