One of the things I wanted to learn is to make these Chinese bread sticks or Chinese doughnuts from scratch.

I tried many times and only had some success today.

You see all those bubbles or holes in there? It is similar to croissants and the whole bread is crunchy.
The few times before, I failed. I took a picture of it before. When the dough does not rise, they don't form holes inside and they look like bread sticks:
They taste OK but not fantastic.
