A Letter To Nigeria| The giant of Africa

Dear Nigeria,
I have heard of your strength, I have heard of your will, a tale from my grandfathers passed unto my fathers. These you have showed with your unbent back even in the face of slavery,scars and humiliation, long before my fathers were born. Though the sun beat your dark skin flowing with melanin,and the moon Smit you by night,You have trend the path unshakened. Among you,heroes had rised , fighting for the freedom we enjoy today. Oh giant of Africa, look around and see your descendants breed from your strength of resilience. I never knew you but your blood flows by veins.

Under the midday sun have you acquired the thirst of liberty, and today marks it 60th independence. You have pledged never to forget the labour of it past heroes, but how fast time flies, the oak trees that flourish has been cut down. Thorn has grown into the land once flourishing with beauty. What has happened? Oh , giant , how has thou fallen.Where had you sold your strength?. Look around, this is not the future our fathers has envisioned, this is not the future our past heroes fought tiredlessly for.

Today marks a new day. A new day to set straight what was crooked. Today we can reshape the future for a better place for us and to our generation yet unborn. Arise Nigeria, take the flag once again and make the land greener. again we can together make it great, great a future our fathers and us hope for, a future where we are one, where our goal is one and though different tribe, we consider it one. A future where unity is our Logo, a future where our children will forever tell of, with a broad smile written over their face.

Dear Nigeria, look into the mirror, look beyond the man you see and see the man who had trend with scars yet unbeaten. Look at your will, look at the man you should be and arise in might. You're 60, oh what a long way you've come thou far, leaders have come and gone. With your age, you have yield more fruit but caterpillers had eaten up.

I believe in you, I believe in your future. That someday, you will be a world we envision. Happy birthday to you, live long, and always remember where you came from and where you are going.
