THE NIGERIAN TANTRUM - Waving cash on the faces of desperate men | We've had enough!

I know that every one of us are familiar with the promises that come out of the mouth of our politicians. Their lips service and the show they put on for the camera can easily make someone believe that the country is moving in the right direction. They show you their generosity but deep down, what you get is completely different from what you imagined.

Ever thought of why they are always so brazen while scheming and executing all their ridiculous act?

You'd know that it's all about the national cake, eh? Well, this national cake is being consumed by 5% of the population (do well not to quote this figure anywhere). But then, they come to media houses and tell you that the people are happy, the people feed well, the people have a good working environment, the people have access to quality education, the people this, the people that. Lol

I don't blame them. They know the people under their umbrella and they allow them to have debris from the national cake. They know how to cover their ass and they do it so well by greasing the palms of their acolytes. Everyone seems to be selling their soul without any consideration for their reputation so, these men in power has also decided to pay a good price for those that are willing to sell theirs.

But, isn't all these invisible bills footed with taxpayers money?

shakedown-1340048_1280.png

It's funny how they pay you with your money and you think that you are being done a favour. You go about sticking out your neck for them and blowing their horns when you know that you are just inflating their ego and making them feel more relaxed in their position. It's horrible to see these from everyone -the police, lawyers, CEOs, clergy, youths, elderly, everyone!

The strategy of these politicians is very simple,

They believe in waving cash on the faces of desperate men.

Now, how desperate do you need to be to carry out tasks that would ruin the lives of millions of people? How do you even sleep at night knowing fully well that a whole country is passing through hell because you chose to be an instrument of misdirection?

That's scary, isn't it? Nigerians can be quite resilient about the irregularities that are going on in the country. We stomach a lot of these things and overlook a lot more. We would rather receive the ill-treatment of bad governance throughout our lifetime than take placards and lead a protest for the world to see what we are being subjected to.

HiveDivider_sm.png

Well well well, that must have been the case in the 80s but this new breed of Nigerians would never seal their lips when being stumped by their fellow countrymen.

President? Policemen? Managers? Employers? Nobody can step on our toes without getting a mouthful of our countermeasures.

This reminds me of this slogan, "We are the people and we've had enough". Don't bother tracking down its origin. Just know that Nigerians don't take shit from everyone that wants to take advantage of them. We will always find a way. There are loopholes to be exploited.

Nigerians can be ignorant Just like you've written here. Imagine being paid with your owns money? That's outrageous. But then there's the only thing we can do other to just see out the government for the remaining 2 years, it's a pathetic place. No everyone can understand what we're going through.

I try as much as possible to be the eyes of those that are just painting mental pictures of what we pass through. Dreemsteem is one of those that have been worried about our situation and l'm glad that we can easily share stuffs like this with the outside world.

I'm glad that this breed of Nigerians are not the type that would allow anyone to play on their intelligence. Those of us that are not ready to cower will come out victorious

I think the problem though chaired by the politicians is beyond the politicians.
If the people refuses to take those peanuts offered during elections and afterwards, if the people refuses to be sycophants. The politicians will be forced to change their ways.
But what do we have? Even some of our protest is infiltrated by people with ulterior motives.

I think a total orientation is needed for all Nigerians especially the youth. Let's start seeing what's right and insisting on it.

Next election year is around the corner, may we not see a repeat of the same thing.

I feel your pains bro. It's actually our pains. But we move.

Meanwhile kudos for putting up a well articulated piece. @kenechukwu97

The fact that these protests are being overtaken by hoodlums is another reason for concern. The initial planners of a protest will definitely plan to host something peaceful with nice motive but the bad eggs will most likely choose to destroy lives and properties.

And orientation is the starting point of our breakthrough.

Thanks for your comment.

I wish those who allow themselves to be brainwashed will read this post and see how much of a fool they make themselves.

Someone on my contact list wrote "the protest is a waste of time, why not wait till 2023 and vote this people out". Everything about that statement is ignorant.

This people have being in power for 6 years and we've gone from bad to worse and you are suggesting we wait for everything to be irreparable before we act.

I like the zeal of this generation, despite the ill treatment they receive from the policemen, they still persist and continue with the protest.

Thanks for this affirmative statement.
The truth is that I can't boast of Nigeria as a country but I will never take anything away from decent Nigerians out there.

We passed through a lot yet we come off as intelligent people and happy beings. If not because of the level of corruption and misdirection we face in this country, it would have been highly rated and the global sphere.

But then, All Hope is not lost. We just need to bring our individual zeal to collectively make a difference.

Indeed if Nigerians were not trying to "survive" they'd be doing so much better. The country is not conducive for growth, yet somehow they find ways to thrive.

When people treat each other as strangers or enemies, it’s easier for these powerful people to get away with lies. Of course I don’t know much more than what I read in hive posts about Nigeria, but I think if we all focus on building better relationships with our neighbors and with people who look or talk or dress different from us, the power will eventually slip out of the fingers of the corrupt.

I am rooting for this generation of Nigerians!

I had similar discussion with a friend and the major issue we pointed out is that all of the issues we face as Nigerians is the fact that we still see a lot of differentiating factors among us.

If it's not tribal difference, it will be religious differences or cultural differences and the funny thing is that we have more than 160 tribes. Now, you can imagine how chaotic it will be if we fail to find a mutual ground for our existence.

Everyone in power tries to exploit the other person. Even the gatekeeper in the organization I went to submit a job application was trying to play a wild card so that l will bribe. Lol.

Things are very ridiculous over here

Unsealimg the lips and unchaining the hands along with freeing the mind from the illusions will move a nation to the positive direction.
When a common man will understand his worth and would stop taking money at the expense of well being of his country men, the revolution will come

Money money money. It has always been about the money and this crumbles alot because those that are fighting a good cause start seeing getting enticed with money, things will go wrong
