Topic Of Discussion - Reflecting On 2021 / Our Cross-Over Story
2021 is almost a wrap guys, For this weekend, we have two topics. Before the new year,With few hours to go,
I want us to take a moment to reflect on our 2021 and share some things you want others to learn from you. I picked this topic from @josediccus. He did some reflections about his 2021 and concluded with;
Off the chain, it was horrible, but on-chain, I show up every day, do what I love doing and became a different person entirely. That said, I've come to learn a lot about hive, I mean..... Haven't we all? It's not all roses and velvet, it's been a marathon of excitement of "highs and lows". At the end of the day, the year has blissfully come to an end, and by far, i'm grateful for the little "wins", the people and the change.
From tomorrow, which is the first day of 2022, we can share our cross over night stories. I hope we learn and also have fun this weekend.
Let Me Start!
My Name is Samuel, Age 21.
This year has been full of drama for me, This was my first full year after graduating from the university. 2020 still had covid and lockdowns, so it went pretty fast. I stay alone and i take care of myself. I don't have an office job, I only teach chess to kids. It was very difficult for me to survive after getting an apartment because I didn't want to do my National youth service yet, I wanted to see if I could create other ways of getting money as my competitive chess strength was declining.
Looking back at my year, Financially, I had a breakthrough with trading my chess salary for a 50x leverage. I threw away the money in few weeks due to lack of gambling discipline. I won a chess tournament earlier this year, but my chess strength has been far from me.
I returned to hive in the last quarter of the year, And my on chain activities has affected my life in general positively. I've been more productive. I've been able to involve myself in more crypto projects that doesn't involve trading. I've been able to take care of myself and my loved ones a bit. And lastly, I've been Happy.

I was going to write a post about this even. Something like, reflections of 2021. Well, I might as well just write it here.
2021 has taken me on quite a trip. From a pretty messed up and delayed school year, to finally getting out of school after an extra year, to now almost completing my NYSC and the cusp of making a U-turn in my life.
WOW.
What a year it has being.
I'm thankful though. Amidst all the turmoil, I've persevered, my family is doing quite okay, my sister is about to do her wedding, my brother just got a better paying job. Sometimes you get distracted by all the mishaps in your life and you completely miss all the little wins and things to enjoy. Hive has being a blessing for me.
In a few month I would be write a post of possibly goodbye, who knows. Y'all know our tradition in the country oh. Go to church and cross over 😅. I pray y'all have a beautiful crossover service.

Well 2021 started with resuming back to school from the pandemic and it was a whole lot of work awaiting me in school all because of the long break to pandemic.
It was not easy to get to make good grades in all courses as have always wanted .The first semester was so hectic for me I gave it my best but still ended up having a D in a 3 unit coursee which affected my Gp I was downcated and lost interest in putting effort but for some reason I got geared up again and guess what?
That course I had D the previous semester I got B.
Then I realized it all about we keep pushing, we push through what we put our minds to.
Yeah. Can totally relate. Got a D in a 3 credit unit course earlier this year too. But like you said. Keep pushing & don't let your mistakes define you.

I had a similar experience after the lockdown. I’d put so much into my exams, but then when results came out, it happened that the CA for a course I should have had a B in was missing; so I got a D. It’s just great that u were able to keep up your spirits and get a better grade at the end of the day.

Thank you my friend. I graduated in 2019. I was 19 years actually, I was fortunate to play chess and go to school at a young age. It made life easier.... I got admission to both uniben and uniport in one Jamb, don't worry I didn't make up to 250 score. like I said, I was fortunate.

Lol great what? I followed my dreams. With uniport, I became a better Chess player. We won both Nigeria University games and West African university games. I had 1 gold & two bronze medals.
I got free accommodation and access to sport facilities.
I knew the vice chancellor and even his wife 😃.
Uniport was an easy choice. & a better choice.

For me the foremost lesson I learnt this year is : Love everyone, but don't trust everyone.
My name is Destiny Erheriene, will be 23 years old in a few days.
The year 2021 started out pretty normal for me. I had really wonderful experiences; I participated at Nigerian's National Sports Festival, playing chess.
I also was opportuned to undertake my industrial training at a prestigious well servicing company.
This changed alot towards the end of the year as I learned that not everyone that smiles at you has good intentions towards you.
But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! & despite all the difficulties I was still able to sour through & make it to this day, for that I'm externally grateful.

Hello Samuel, my name is Ophelia also known as a box of passion or Khaleesii.
2021 has been a crazy year, at the beginning I went through a series of depressions, and most days I didn't think I would make it.
I spent most of the year unemployed which was sad because I felt very helpless and when I got a job, they refused to pay my salary, and then another one was simply slavery.
I came back to hive around September and it has been life-changing, most people don't even understand when I say that.
I got into a relationship and it ended but it was a learning experience for me.
This year I was more intentional about everything and it made a difference in the way I saw life.
I am ending the year in a place where I wasn't at the beginning mentally and in general and I am so glad.

God has been faithful 💯 in 2021, though I had some robbery incidence in December, my shop was burgled and the thieves cart away lots of goods. Notwithstanding, I remain remain grateful to God. High cost of things is another big shock like 2016 but I believe we shall overcome.
My advice for aspiring entrepreneurs is that make sure security is adequate before renting a shop in a particular place to avoid losing all your investment.

Well, for me 2021 has been one of a kind as started school two weeks after y admission and I was scared of being in the tertiary institution for the first time and I am already two weeks behind. But am glad everything worked together for my good and I hope for a better 2022 as well.
Wao this is great. This 2021 ha s been a really great lesson to me in every aspect . I became more courageous to face some kind of challenges financially and has been able to gain some things with the help of the blockchain.. Things were so tedious for me especially coming to write post and engaging even with school activities which has even taken like 70 to 80 Percent but I still find time to still engage and make some awesome post in the blockchain. Tho I have been able to balance school with my activities on the Blockchain with the help of God and my little knowledge.. but the most thing I am greatful for is that hive has really helped me one way or the other to to feed my self and help my loved one tho even if I am not what I want yet but I am still am to stand and I am not begging anyone to survive..
Time management can be a big factor
