My Hive Niche
I started blogging four years ago with the intention of settling for story writing, but with time I started to consider other niches, not because I was good at them but I felt I needed to be vast in my penmanship. As time went on, I started to enjoy the idea of trying different niches, especially when some contests demanded that we write in another community with a different niche entirely. Currently, I don't have a specific niche on the hive platform, I engage most in contests and a few posts from my personal thoughts or story. I feel engaging in contests may help me manage my writing skills as it involves judges who rate once work at the end.
I'll say I have no niche, I write on general topics, just anything I feel like writing at that moment. I'm not perfect in any of the niches, and I don't embrace the idea of settling for one niche and gaining mastery in it, I just believe one can be averagely good in all. I have been blogging for some years now, even though it has helped improve my writing, I have not considered the idea of settling for just one niche.
But if I was to consider a niche, I would prefer to focus my writing on posts about life. I like to express my feelings in an article, I like to be real and not fictional. Writing from one's experience or feelings will help him flow freely and not struggle with words or construction. I could channel my everyday life events into a post, or write on a subject that could be of more benefit to people than the random post that has no message- This aspect of writing about life would have been my niche on hive but it's not even though I write life post atimes. For now, I write on general subjects, mostly contests.
From one hiver to another, I feel like blogging only gains traction when you niche down. Since writing about life is your thing, you can do more of that and see where it leads. I believe we can be everywhere at the same time but it's always beneficial to identify with a few groups.
That's true, at a point I thought of doing more of writing about life but the decision has been dangling. I hope I consider it soon.
