A Great Day. No Pics

Yesterday, friends drove 200km from Cape Town to take us out for lunch. Why? It was a public holiday, they needed to get out of the city.

But that's not all. He is 74 and she is 70, so Covid has kept everyone at home. They both still work: he has a small, successful recycling business and she manages a successful early learning centre.

We'd not seen each other for coming up two years. We've known them forever and got to know them because B had a restaurant. He's a self-taught chef and we frequented it often. Not only do he and I have stuff in common, butnhe and The Husband grew up in the same part of the world and share a lusty love of beef.

V and I, well we share similar education philosophies and approaches to "stuff" and an appreciation of food that leans away from the carné to the plant-based. Ironically, this leaning has had to harden. She was diagnosed with [Hashimoto's disease](Hashimoto's thyroiditis https://g.co/kgs/MguQaY).

All of that aside, the catching up and conversation started the instant they arrived and only stopped because they had to drive back to Cape Town, five hours later.

The timing of their departure was partly precipitated because I had a transatlantic appointment to keep. Keep it I did. And it was a success. Now it's time for the compliance paperwork and, hopefully I am good to go as a vurtual writing tutor.

Also yesterday, work for my new client.

I had not done this on Tuesday because we were not sure whether the inevitable increased restrictions would affect operations. Mercifully operations continue albeit with an enforced closing time of 9pm.

No pics, but great day.

Until next time, be well

What a treat that must have been, sounds like you both have kindred spirits there! One actually hungers for that closeness and catching up on what's been happening not so!
Thank goodness the restaurants csn stay open, although closing time is earlier. I think all us South Africans should start our days earlier although not easy in winter! That way the restaurants won't feel it so much as the working day can finish earlier!
I love your marketing flyer!
