Am I Making An Impact on the World Right Now?

hands-1345059_640.jpg

Hello everyone and welcome back. Today I'm participating again in the Blogging Challenge in it's Part 3. The question for Day 12 is "How are you making an impact in the world right now?"

To answer this question, I refer to numerous other articles I've written on the topics of what I do to contribute, my passions, and my best attributes.

First, I feel as though I'm a generous person with my time and my finances. In order for the world to be a better place, I always rely upon the scripture:

Give, and it shall be given unto you;
good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:38 (King James Version Bible)1

With the above scripture in mind, all my life I have devoted to giving to the needy as best I could. I'm not a wealthy person; however, I learned long ago that it's not about how much your give. It's the fact that you give at all.

My personal favorite charity is """Feed the Children".** I believe that there is no reason why the world hunger in children can't be solved. This is a problem that is obviously above my head. But I will continue to do my part to join in my local community to ensure that children are fed.

Next, I try to recycle as best I can to help our county and city in its recycling efforts. Each resident is given recycle receptacles. This equipment is collected at the end of each week. All we have to do is fill it.

Also, purchasing items in sustainable packaging is another area we contribute to a clean environment. It may be on a super small scale, but it does help.

Recently, I purchased a mask support item that helps you breathe better from 4Ocean. If you haven't heard about this group, they clean our oceans to collect plastic and related materials that can be recycled. The mask breathing support devices are made from the recycled plastic they collect. I'm proud to be a supporter of this group.

So, to answer the question whether I think I'm making an impact on the world. The answer is definitely "YES."

Da, y se te dará;

A wonderful post here and yes, all of us can make a difference.

I am happy to say that @papilloncharity (The Papillon Foundation) in South Africa, is now celebrating our 20th year in making a difference every day.
A look at our website will show you what we do.

Thanks so much. I was pleased to make the acquaintance with your charity last year. I donated on Paypal. Then I participated in the weekly draw.

I do plan to do that again. Also, I plan in the summer to donate directly with Hive/HBD.

Awesome work you and your team does. I know the summer months is in need of donations to try to help as many as you can.

Take care.

Ah! Forgive me as you have now rung a bell in my head. I am a bit old you know 😇
Somehow I remembered your name, as we deal here with many people every day and for instance this very morning we opened the new class where we are now training youngsters to become community leaders.
But I remembered your name and I just couldn't figure out where or what.

Now I do and I thank you once again for your kind support. Yes are one of the special people and please tell me what you think about our new website?

I am still working on the "Gallery" page and we haven't placed it on the website yet, as I have hundreds of photos to sort through and to label for each of our projects.

Blessings and have a slice of !PIZZA

You're welcome. I'll still visit to see the updates and what you're doing now. You said you were going to slow down a bit, so please do and take it easy.

Thanks for the Pizza. One of my favorite foods. So much, I invested in the project and secured some for my Hive portfolio.

You certainly have an excellent memory. Yes, regarding the slowing down, we don't employ any staff anymore, as now we are partnering with 5 existing charities. The "together we can do more" story and it works so well that I can kick myself for not doing it before.

At the Imibala school for poor children, we have started a free coding training project. At the Rape Crisis center, we support the councelors. Then at the Police victim support unit, we do free trauma training for the officers and the great thing about this project is that we are also training our 5 youth community leaders together with the police officers.
At Joyce's kitchen as you have seen in the post, we support the feeding project in that poor old village.
And finally at Little Angels, a home for cerebral palsy children we support with nappies and food vouchers.

Oh, and of course our full trauma training "Apples of Gold" project, started in 2015 continues to be presented to child workers in towns and cities across the country.

So yeah, it looks like I have scaled down a bit 😜

Thank you for the care and I will add another to your portfolio !PIZZA

Yes, I see...scaled back a bit. And you are correct that together you can do more. It used to be divide and conquer, but that strategy puts more strain on individuals or organizations. Thank you for some more pizza. Have a good rest of your week.

Oh yeah, the greatest problem here is that each charity protect their funding contacts at all costs. So in our approach we guarantee them that we want no money, but that we are rather givers. That and when they see our experience changes them like night and day.

But I also tell them not to snow us under with demands, as we work at our own time on selected projects. So yes, it seems to work as Papillon now has a few legitimate charities under it's umbrella in partnerships. Now we wait for Hive to moon 🤣

Have another slice of !PIZZA
