A few flowers

A few flowers

My Last couple of posts I was using a big lens and taking shots of birds at a distance, today is the opposite using my Macro Lens and getting up close and personal with a few flowers.

These were all taking during a walk around and my first visit to the Allen C Haskill Public Gardens here in New Bedford and only a 3 minute drive from our house, we have driven by it many times but I didn't know it existed till just the other day, its a lovely small place, originally was a Nursery I believe but was taken over by thetrustees.org and is open to the public free of charge, I will be doing a Wednesday walk about the place but for this post will focus on a few of the flowers I saw while there

Now I am terrible with identifying types of flowers but trying a new app on my phone and it tells me these are called Wild Leek.
I loved the color of this one

And this next one is a Hyacinth I muted the colors of the background as I felt it took away from the image

And next up is Great Laurel, a species of Azeleas(Rhododendron)
and again I went with a selective color for this shot

And these cute little flowers are Siberian bugloss a species of Brunnera, and I say cute little things as they are quite small especially compared with the others in this post

and to finish off a Drooping star of Bethlehem, and again I went with selective coloring,

feel free to correct me if I got the name of any of these flowers wrong

I think the app did a fairly good job but cannot be certain it did with my minimal knowledge in this area LOL

And that’s all folks

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

Nice shots! I like the white one with the close up of the petals and the last one with the white flower.
Did you create the dark background effect with after editing on that last one?

Beautiful macro sir @tattoodjay. Very love it. May I ask sir? Do you use app to editing it or not? I don't have more knowledge here. But I love the way you shot. Allow me to vote and reblog. Blessing

Its totall outstanding photography in macrophotography, in macro- flowers details are more visible as behind or background gone blur and more focus on flowers center.

Those are some beautiful buds! Nice job on the photos! I recently got a new phone and I am looking forward to putting the camera piece through its paces this summer. I know it won't be anywhere near as good as a real camera, but they are doing some amazing things with them these days.

I went with the One Plus 9Pro. It has a Hasselblad component to the lenses which drew my attention.

Cool photos, JJ, somehow I like the Great Laurel best, but they are all really nice 👍😀

I have taken some macros of flowers on Sunday myself, but compared to yours ... well, mine are different, I like yours more 😀

May change it to green on Sundays when Zach uses the Compter he loves green

You are correct with the Siberian bugloss a species of Brunnera, but, people will probably know them better as Forget-me-nots.

The first one I think is an Allium, but, also known as ramp, ramps, ramson, wild leek, wood leek, or wild garlic. They just don't make it easy!

Great job at identifying, the apps usually work pretty well.

Artistically beautiful!
