Seagulls of the World !!

Seagull or Gulls are Seabirds of the family Laridae in the suborder Lari and they are found in every corner of the planet and even though they all have the same body shape there are 50 different species of Seagulls like the European Herring Gull , Lesser black-backed Gulls , Great black-backed Gulls and the common Gulls just to mention some.

The Gull , Seagull also referred to as the Beach Chickens are very clever birds they see and remember and even pass on certain behaviors one example of their cleverness is as a group they start stamping their feet to imitate rainfall and trick earthworms to come up to the surface and lunch is had 😂

One major advantage of Seagulls is they are very opportunistic feeders which means they will never starve they will eat just about anything that is available to them like insects , fruits , chips but fish of course is on the top of there menu and they are brilliant at hunting them down.

Do you ever wonder why we don't see any baby seagulls on the beaches it's because if we could see them , then the predators would also be able to see the poor little fellas and they wouldn't last long so Mummy and Daddy keep them hidden from the predators till they can defend their selves out in the big world then they come out and play 😊

Excellent seagull photos and you know I love those shadow shots! @ghastlygames has been posting photos of baby seagulls, and I don't think I have ever seen the young ones before. You are right, they do keep them well hidden Thanks for the great info and for posting to #featheredfriends.

They do seem to keep them well hidden, don't they? I have never seen one but that's not unusual. I am far from any coasts and don't even see seagulls very often.

Maybe if we lived near the coastline we would have a better change of seeing the babies like your friend posted showing the babies 😊

Living near the sea and the seagulls are so common. Just now I watch a seagull fledgling on the roof of the building across the street. Its parents still feed it.
